"They were able to accommodate my crunched time, gave a fair price, and the work was fabulous. I had Jose come back to paint one door and sand and stain another that we hadn't thought of in the first round. Everything was great. The touchups they did without having the original paint were incredible."

"Mr. Lopez was prompt, courteous, professional and his work is amazing. The one thing I worried about the most was that Mr. Lopez would not be able to make the walls looks as good as the original, and was I wrong. After completion of the work which by the way he finished one day early, I could not believe my eyes. I don't know how he did it. but everything looks original. He even painted the wall and matched the color perfectly. Anyone looking for drywall work who wants a nice guy who is reasonably priced, prompt, professional and great at his craft look no further than Jose' Lopez. You will not be disappointed,"

"I requested an estimate via Angie's list and received a call from Scott the very next morning and he came out very soon after to determine what needed to be done and the cost.  I contacted him the next day to schedule the work based on both ouf our schedules.  Within a week or so (on the scheduled date), Scott and two of his crew arrived as scheduled to start the work (I believe the men were Alex and Pete).  The two guys worked for 3 days to complete all of the work.  They were both extremely professoinal, friendly and focused.  They did a great job and completed the job ahead of schedule.  They arrived on time every day and didn't leave for the day until they had all work areas cleaned up.  Scott stopped by each day to check on the progress of the job which I appreciated.
The reason I gave them a "B" for pricing is because I see that they are now offering an Angie's List special for 8 hours of painting for $199 so I'm a little jealous I didn't wait and get this offer as I would have saved a TON of money!  If you're reading this review on July 10, you only have 5 days to purchase this special so you should JUMPT AT IT.
Cleveland Painting was great and I will use them again without a doubt.

"This was a major project that took about one month to complete - much faster than most contractors. Jose always made good suggestions and often saved us money by repairing/painting instead of replacing. The job was started early and finished in less time than we expected. Sandra handled the contracts and financial arrangements. Both Jose and Sandra were very responsive and professional. We highly recommend J.Y.Handyman!"

"We received an estimate from Euneek in mid July.  At the time they gave us the estimate they saidit would be September before they had time for a job like ours which would take about a week.  When I called to schedule the job they said they could schedule the job for the next week, which was July 30th.  At first I was grateful for this but later came to regret it.
They arrived as scheduled on Monday morning.  They had copies of the work to be done but could not seem to follow it.  One of the workman started tearing off the wall paper in our kitchen which was not to be taken down.  Originally it was thought there was sheet rock behind the paneling to be taken down in the den.  Since it was not in the estimate to put up sheet rock it had to be added.  The job on the sheet rock and texturing was done reasonably well.  The carpentry associated with it was another story.
One of the doorways in the den was installed about 3/4 of an inch too high so it did not reach the floor and they had to come back and fix it before our flooring could be put in.  The base board on the outer wall did not reach the brick on the fireplace by about 1/2 inch. They filled the gap with white caulking and left it that way.
The painting of the ceilings and walls went reasonably well.  I had given them a very detailed sheet of what paint went where but several times I found them using the wrong colors and they had to repaint. I was told they would use as many coats as it would take to cover but on the baseboards, doorways and trim I had to ask them to recoat to cover and even at that we (my husband and I) did a lot of touch up and recoating where the old paint showed through or it had not been painted at all.
The last 2 days (8/3 and 8/4) things became very rushed.  I learned this was because they had a large job at the local college that weekend and needed their people there.  They sent one person out on the last day.  All the cabinets and backdoor was to be sprayed and none of this had been done.  There was clean up and trim work left to do.  They did decide that he could not do it all and sent someone else out.  The spray painting was a nightmare.  When they sprayed the cabinets in the laundry room over spray went everywhere.  Walls, ceiling, trim.  They worked at fixing this but we still have over spray on the ceiling.
The bookshelf and cabinet in the den were by far the worst experience.  After the spray painting the display cabinet had a huge run in the very middle.  I asked the painter about fixing it.  He took a brush spread it around and now I had about 8 inches of smeary mess and run. He left it that way.  They spray painted the brass hinges on the cabinet, of which the paint is coming off.   One of the doors on the cabinet had so much paint built up around the hinge it would not close.  They left many areas so rough on the shelves and doors they felt like sandpaper.  I called the owner and he did send a painter out to work on it (8/14), but after he left we still had the run and lots of unpainted and rough areas on the display cabinet.  The painter that came out said the sprayer must not have been working correctly and not delivering enough paint to cover properly.
The only thing we wanted them to fix after all this was the display cabinet as it was painted in oil paint and this is difficult to work with.  I called the owner again (8/21) and he was on vacation.  I called again the week of 8/27 and he called back (9/4) and said he would send someone out, but I asked him to come out and look at the cabinet to see what could be done to really fix it not just spread some more paint on it.  His son called me back on Friday (9/7) and said maybe someone could come out next week. I felt we should not be worked in but made a priority as they had left us with a substandard job for over a month .   At that point we decided we needed to find another way to get the display cabinet fixed and not to use Euneek again.
They did not have any coordination of how to get the job done and no evaluation to assure they had done a good job.
Update:  I sent a letter to the owner of Euneek with pictures of the cabinet. He did get in touch with me right away and they came out and repainted the front of the cabinet and took the doors to the shop to be repainted.  My husband spent hours taking the paint off the brass hinges.  I am happy with the cabinet but it took almost 7 weeks from completion of the job to get it done.

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

No, you don’t need to apply paint primer to your wall before hanging paintable wallpaper. Manufacturers design paintable wallpaper so that the paint will adhere effectively, so primer isn’t necessary. Plus, even if you opt for a light shade of paint, you won’t have to worry about the shade underneath showing through because you are painting on a light, white surface.

There can be too much of a good thing when it comes to accent walls, so avoid creating one in every room in your house. Some rooms, like bathrooms and kitchens, don’t naturally lend themselves to accent walls, so it’s best to skip them there. Of course, your home should reflect your own sense of style, so if accent walls in multiple rooms appeal to you, there’s no hard-and-fast rule forbidding it.

To layer wallpaper over wallpaper, inspect your existing wallpaper for problem areas. Damaged wallpaper should not be covered. If it’s okay to proceed, prep by turning off the electricity and removing any outlet and switch covers. Dust your walls and lightly rinse them to prevent the existing paper from peeling. Apply primer, then apply your new wallpaper.

Hanging wallpaper may seem simple, but in practice it requires significant planning and finesse to make it look professional. To start, you need to get an even application of wallpaper paste across all of your wallpaper, which requires experience and large pasting tables to get right. You also need to plan out your design and match it exactly so that you don’t have imperfections in the finished product. It’s often better to hire a professional wallpaper hanger who can get the job done properly for a clean, smooth finish.

When comparing peel-and-stick and traditional wallpaper, the better choice depends on your specific needs and space. Peel-and-stick wallpaper is more budget-friendly and easier to DIY install. On the other hand, traditional wallpaper lasts much longer and holds up better in a wider variety of spaces, including areas with moisture like kitchens and bathrooms.
