"Maid Envy has been cleaning my house once a month for ~ one year. My experience has been very positive. Cindy is super helpful everytime I have questions, the ladies are very professional and my house is clean! The only time I had an issue with my sink garbage disposal following a cleaning, Cindy's husband came to fix it the same day! A++ overall."

"Lisa and her crew are awesome! Lisa has a great business model - a CREW cleans and a normal cleaning on my average-sized house only takes an hour instead of people being in the house ALL day. They do a great job and I can actually trust them - it's a first for me because I have had people that didn't show, left without cleaning, stole things. Not the folks at Clean It Right! I could not be more happy with Lisa and her company. Honestly, it feels so great to know that my home is being taken care of!"

"Quentin was hired to do some carpet repair and steam cleaning. He did a great job repairing the damage our cats had done in our doorways (they like to claw under closed doors). No one will notice that the carpet was replaced in those areas. On the steam cleaning, he did a very thorough job and was able to remove stains that had been in the carpet over 3 years. He used a hot water spray to ore-great along with a professional system to do true steam cleaning."

"It was a pleasure working with Ben and his crew from Clean Air Houston. Ben called in advance and showed up on schedule, proceeded to explain the work to be performed and answered all of my questions. Then, he and his crew carried on the deep cleaning of air ducts and vents, and inspected the a/c units including the treatment for mold and fungus. I am very happy with the quality of service and professionalism they provided, and strongly recommend them."

Cleaning questions, answered by experts

As a general rule, you should clean your oven at least every three months, though this depends on how often you use it and the amount of residue buildup. A clear sign that your oven needs cleaning is if you notice smoke or a burning smell during use. Many ovens have a self-cleaning cycle, which heats the oven to an extreme temperature. If you use this feature, stay home while it runs and consider ventilating the room, as it can create smoke. For manual cleaning, you can make a paste of baking soda and water or use white vinegar before resorting to harsher, store-bought oven cleaners.

If it’s been a while between cleanings, then further elbow grease is needed. To help with caked- on stains, create a solution of distilled vinegar and water, then soak the rough side of the sponge and scrub.

The most effective toilet tank cleaners include commercial cleaning products, but for DIY purposes, white vinegar is best. Vinegar can help kill bacteria and remove mineral buildup from your toilet tank, but it won’t harm the necessary bacteria in your septic tank as some commercial products can. For the best clean, hire a professional to choose the most aggressive cleaning product that’s still safe for your septic tank, or use white vinegar and a scrub brush to do the cleaning yourself.

Distilled white vinegar or apple cider vinegar both work well to clean faucet heads; simply soak the end of the fixture in a 50/50 mix with tap water for 30 minutes. Baking soda and dish soap used in conjunction with vinegar can also help the cleaning process. A commercially available calcium, lime, and rust remover is a good solution for stubborn buildup or stains.

The answer to whether it’s safe to use a moldy dishwasher is: It depends. Mold exposure affects people differently. It’s possible that even a small amount of mold in your dishwasher could contribute to respiratory issues and other health problems, especially if you have an underlying health condition. Mold is capable of surviving the high heat and detergent used in a dishwasher cycle, so it’s important to ensure that you act quickly at the first sign of mold, or contact a house cleaner near you to stay on top of any potential mold problems.
