"A Best Tree service does an A+ job EVERY TIME. I have been using them for at least 15 years to keep our shrubs trimmed and trees, including 3 Huge Red Oaks and a huge Pecan pruned and in good health. Jesus always returns my calls right away and usually will come by the next day to look at the job and give me a great price. I rarely make comments in this manner, but Jesus and his men deserve the praise!"

"Jesus Luna’s tree service was excellent! I was provided a reasonable free quote within an hour of my request for service. The team trimmed my tree, removed all trimmings and raked the area clean. I highly recommend their service to future clients in need of tree removal services."

Small jobs welcome

"Oak Valley Tree Service recently trimmed our oak trees. Armando and his crew showed up on time. They cut the trees exactly as I had requested when he provided the quote, and sprayed pruning paint on all the wounds. The crew cleaned up very nicely when the job was complete. The company also carrier General Liability Insurance which is a must. They did a fantastic job from start to finish. I would highly recommend this company!!"

"Mr Martinez did an amazing job. After the trees were trimmed he trimmed the hedges across the front of the house . He then took my riding lawnmower and cut and edged the whole property, which is situated on an acre of land! All at no additional cost! All the tree branches were hauled off. It is such a rarity to receive such excellent customer service. I would give him 10 stars!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Late August, September, and mid-October are the ideal months for planting a young tree. However, the best time to plant a tree ultimately depends on when the weather transitions to fall-like conditions and eventually winter frost. As long as the hottest days of summer have passed and the ground hasn’t frozen yet, you can still successfully plant trees.

Only trim palm trees as needed, which is usually about once per year. However, don't stick to that schedule if the palm tree doesn't need it. Avoid trimming palm trees when possible. It’s best to trim palm trees only when you notice a buildup of dead fronds. That said, leave the brown fronds during the dormant season because this organic matter helps protect the tree from the cooler weather.

If you don’t cut down a dead, dying, or diseased tree, it can become a nesting place for pests like mosquitos, bees, beetles, wasps, fly larvae, and more. Some pests will live in the tree, while others will feed off the decaying wood. Unhealthy trees are also more likely to fall over, potentially injuring people and causing damage to your property.

Palm tree stumps can take as long as seven to ten years to rot naturally. Whereas some tree stumps rot within a year, palm trees tend to last longer due to their deep root networks. Chemical rotting (described above) can help speed the process up so your palm tree stumps rot in under two months.

Leaving the tree stump and letting it rot is never a good idea, as this leads to insect infestations and other frustrations. Additionally, decomposing trunks are at risk for diseases that spread out to the remaining plants and trees in the yard, thus ruining your whole outdoor aesthetic. It's usually best to remove the stump at the same time you remove the tree.
