"A Best Tree service does an A+ job EVERY TIME. I have been using them for at least 15 years to keep our shrubs trimmed and trees, including 3 Huge Red Oaks and a huge Pecan pruned and in good health. Jesus always returns my calls right away and usually will come by the next day to look at the job and give me a great price. I rarely make comments in this manner, but Jesus and his men deserve the praise!"

"Jesus Luna’s tree service was excellent! I was provided a reasonable free quote within an hour of my request for service. The team trimmed my tree, removed all trimmings and raked the area clean. I highly recommend their service to future clients in need of tree removal services."

"Precision Tree Service is appropriately named! Customer Service was outstanding, Price was right and fair! We called Monday and the job was completed Thursday (delayed only because of rain) in about 3 hours. When they arrived it was with ALL THE EQUIPMENT and lots of people. They were all busy, worked as a precision team, completed the job in record time. This was a very large live tree hanging over two fences and they didn’t damage either fence and cleaned up and hauled off all debris. You cannot tell they have been here. We will contact them again for any future needs and spreading the word. “PRECISION TREE SERVICE IS THE BEST”! You can also add FANTASTIC, AWESOMENESS, SUPERB, and on & on."

"Brendan and his team were great! They helped us level and install a pad for a shed, and they also helped assemble the shed. They ended up making the pad a little bigger to better fit the space, which I really appreciate!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Salt, herbicide, light deprivation, boiling water, and burning can all help dissolve a tree stump. You can also bury the tree stump in soil or mulch to help it rot naturally. Killing a tree stump prevents future regrowth, but you may also remove it by digging it out or grinding it.

A chainsaw is the best tool to cut down a tree, but you may also use a handsaw or ax. You may also want to use a lopper or pole saw to remove limbs before cutting down the tree. Wear chainsaw chaps and protective gear, including eyewear and earplugs if you use a chainsaw. Again, if you’re unsure about how to use this tool, this project may be one to skip.

Some trees will bounce back just fine, and others will struggle and possibly die. Evergreens, for instance, have a very difficult time recovering after droughts and usually die after periods of extreme dryness. Usually, you’ll have to just wait and see—if the drought occurs in wintertime, it’s possible that your tree will recover during the gentler springtime.

In general, trees should be planted no closer than 15 to 20 feet from your foundation. For larger trees with far-reaching roots like maples, oaks, or poplars, a good guide is to plant as many feet from your home as the tree’s height is expected to reach at maturity. Some trees, like elms and willows, should only be planted far from where their roots may encounter sewer or water lines.

While trees can grow in the curb strip between the sidewalk and the street, this placement often poses the problem of interfering with overhead power lines. It’s best to consult your local utility provider and tree planting service before transplanting a tree that might grow into power lines. Also, you should never work within 20 feet of a live power line to avoid the risk of electric shock. Tree branches should never touch nearby power lines, so it’s essential to ensure your tree isn’t in danger of growing too close to them.
