"Had ceramic tile installed. Installers tracked grout into newly installed wood floors, used my personal broom and bucket, still have not completed to last bit of installation after two weeks, baseboard has several areas installed incorrectly - huge gaps. Called empire about situation. They advised a install supervisor would call. After a week, still no call. Hardwood floor installers were great...no issues."

"Riggins Painting is really unbelievable. This is the second time I've hired them for work on my house. These guys absolutely exceeded my expectations and just did phenomenal work on trimming out and re-siding my house. Anthony was the lead on the crew and that guy really knows his stuff. He obviously takes pride in his work and he worked hard and just did a really fine job. Ben was the other guy on the crew and also worked hard and did a great job. The work on my house was comprised of removing the rotted out wood siding on my house along with the old sheathing. Once that was done, the guys cut and installed new osb, house wrap and then Anthony measured and cut all new trim for my siding including a large bay window that we have. I was really impressed by his quality of work and especially with the outcome when the job was completed. Once the trim was done, Anthony and Ben cut and installed new siding and these guys do it right. If you want guys who know how to show up on time and get right to work PLUS do an outstanding job, then hands down, call Riggins Painting. I know Chris the owner and he also is just a high quality guy who makes it his business to do an excellent job and make customers happy in the process. You guys Rock! Thank you!"

"Steve was a pleasure to have in our house because he is polite and respectful. He is has a vast amount of knowledge from his many years experience in the field, and he strives for excellence. If there's any underlying problems he will fix them, he does not cover over any that could be problematic in the future, and he pays special attention to detail. Steve remodeled our whole bathroom; he started with the ceiling, then patched and painting the walls, replaced the sub floor and plumbing, and he finished by laying down a new ceramic tile floor and vanity, the end result is a beautiful new a bathroom from ceiling to floor. We are very pleased and thankful for Steve's good work, and we highly recommend him."

"I can not give Mike enough praise. He was a godsend for me. I had to fire a contractor that started my bathroom remodel b/c things were not being completed correctly. Mike came in a saved the project. His work is SUPERB, he is super meticulously about his quality of work. He took his time with my project which I appreciated. He had to reframe my subfloor, install a jacuzzi tub, prep the walls for tile, install the tile, tile the floor, install toilet, vanity, paint ceiling/closet. He even installed the crown molding for no additional charge. His bid was in my price range. I can go on and on about how satisfied I am. You will NOT be disappointed if you hire him!"

"Had them install a tile shower on our new construction home and I have no complaints. Easy to work with, and they did a great job. Have had a couple buddies use them on some remodels after mine and they have been just as pleased as well. Safe to say, anytime I need work done HHH will be my first call!"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Figure out how much tile you need by measuring the backsplash area. Measure the height and length in feet and multiply to get the square footage. Don’t make adjustments for outlets or small cutouts but subtract the square footage for windows or other large obstructions from the total. To account for waste, get 10% more than your calculation.

The lifespan of tile flooring can vary significantly based on the material and maintenance. Generally, tile flooring can last anywhere from 10 to 30 years, but high-quality, well-maintained ceramic tile can last 75 to 100 years. To achieve a longer lifespan, you should clean the tiles and grout regularly, reseal the grout annually, keep the floor dry, and avoid placing extremely heavy items on it to prevent cracking. Choosing a high-quality tile (Grade 1) will also contribute to its longevity.

Yes, you can tile over existing tiles in a bathroom, but it is not always recommended. For this method to be successful, the original tile surface must be clean, flat, and free of damage such as cracks, unevenness, mold, or mildew. While tiling over existing tiles can save time and money, there are potential drawbacks. The new adhesive may not bond properly, and the process adds extra weight to the wall or floor. Additionally, the increased height of the surface could interfere with door clearances. For the best and most durable results, removing the old tiles before installing new ones is generally the better option.

Technically, you can start tiling in a corner and work your way out. However, it's not traditionally how tiling is done. Instead, work from the bottom middle of the wall. Tile out the entire row with whole tiles before moving on to the next row. Once you finish installing all of the whole tiles, then you focus on tiling the corners.

Tile shouldn’t be set tight against the tub. Bathtubs can expand when filled, and they can shift slightly with the weight of occupants. For this reason, it’s important to leave a slight gap between the bathtub and the first row of tile. Aim for a narrow gap of approximately 1/16 of an inch, filled with caulk, to allow for this expansion and movement while still allowing for tile shower waterproofing.
