"Reasonable price, installed on time (even earlier than expected) and very professional. Jim, the owner, professionally suggested some better ideas in of the layout of the tile. We are so glad we listened. The floors look gorgeous and the house looks bigger now. The same with the grout, he suggested a color--it looks great with the tile and it even ties the kitchen tile with the living room tile. Amazing work! We are very pleased with the installation. We definitely recommend and will use again for floor installation in other rooms in the future."

"Brandon and crew did a good job. They painted my house, replaced carpet with wood floor and put tile down in bathrooms. Very friendly and polite. After job was completed everything was cleaned and trash was hauled away. I would highly recommend New Age Flooring."

"Clifford was very professional. I closed our back door and forgot the keys inside. We were stuck over 3 hours outside our house. I called a locksmith company. This company arrived about an hour later. He worked on trying to get it opened. He drilled, grinded, and everything. Eventually, he forced the door open. It did much damage to the door frame. Clifford has re installed the door frame and it's better than before. I highly recommend Clifford for any projects you may need. He is an incredible guy!"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can install a backsplash directly onto drywall, provided the wall is properly prepped, clean, and dry. For best results, especially in kitchen areas, your walls should be made of moisture-resistant drywall, often called green board. If your current wall isn't moisture-resistant, it's recommended to replace it before installing the backsplash. For even greater protection against water damage, you can remove the existing drywall and install a tile backer board or cement board instead. While properly installed standard drywall is typically strong enough to support a backsplash, some local building codes may require water-resistant materials in kitchen areas, so it's a good idea to check.

The tile trim you use will depend on a few factors, including design preferences, budget, and whether the project is DIY or not. You might choose plastic trim if you want an easier DIY job that is more budget-friendly. There are also more color options available in plastic. On the other hand, you might choose metal to match your fixtures or for areas with heavy use.

You can, in theory, tile your fireplace hearth with most tiles. However just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. For example, it’s much better to use unglazed tiles because glazed tiles are more resistant to cracking under extreme heat. Porcelain is more heat-resistant than ceramic, but you can still design the hearth as you like by putting the most heat-resistant tiles directly under the fire and, if it matches your style, add more decorative tiles further from the center of the fire.

Yes, you can tile a shower as a DIY project, and you can save hundreds of dollars in labor costs by doing so. However, you’ll need to rent or buy quite a few tools and supplies for the job, including a saw, tile nippers, and a new shower pan. In terms of the work itself, you should be prepared to tackle a variety of different tasks, including measuring and ordering materials, removing old tile, waterproofing the wall, adding rows of tile, grouting, and more.

It’s important to leave a gap in the corner when tiling to allow room for tile expansion. Leaving between one eighth of an inch to one tenth of an inch is enough space.
