"I hired Charlie to replace a balcony at our lake house that was not built properly originally. Charlie performed the walkthrough when he said he would (no one was at the house at the time) and provided me a quote within two days along with a copy of his business license, insurance, and BBB rating (A+). We discussed what all needed to be done over the phone since I live in OH and the house is in TN and scheduled a time to meet in person. Charlie showed up right on time and we walked through what needed to be done. I showed him some other deck repairs that needed to be made and he was honest about what needed attention and what did not. He started the project on the exact date he said he would and finished it on time using proper materials and structural engineering. I am now much more confident in the safety of both the balcony and deck. While discussing the balcony, I asked him if he also did flooring (which he does) so he quoted me on installing 700sqft of LVT. He allowed my wife and me to choose and purchase the material but gave us direction on what to look for in quality flooring. He completed the project on time and sent me pictures of the finished product. He was careful to put the furniture back in the right spots and put felt pads on all furniture feet without me even asking. He also adjusted the molding so that quarter round was not needed. The flooring looks great and I could not tell, outside of the flooring, that he had even been there. I will definitely use Charlie and Handy Chucks for all of my home improvement needs not only due to the quality of his work but also because he is so trustworthy. He did all of the work while I was in OH and made sure the house was locked and the alarm was armed each night. I know this because both are tied to the Internet and I can monitor them from my phone. "Initially, I must say that Chris's sales pitch was a little overwhelming with too many statements about different levels of quality about the shingles and free up-grades. I was told upfront that plywood sheeting would run $50/sheet if it was needed. When the job was completed, I was told 8 sheets of plywood was used ($400) but was not told this prior to it being installed and had no way to verify it from the discarded material. Unauthorized work was done without being approved by me which resulted in additional charges beyond the original estimate (from $5950 to $6700). Overall, the quality of the work was excellent. The roofing crew worked diligently to complete the job, but there was definitely a communication barrier when talking to them. Did not know the exact date and time the job would be done until the work crew rang my doorbell at 7 a.m. unannounced. Did not receive an in-hand estimate on-site but rather was sent a picture of the receipt by email. I would have preferred a hard copy of the contract worksheet at the time of the estimate. Just make sure to get everything in writing especially the cost for additional materials and labor beforehand. After all. when the roof is striped of all its protective covering, the consumer has no choice but to pay the price that is charged."

"The man who did my foundation repair (removed rotted timber from under front door and installed new rot proof wood, then added concrete facing) was competent and friendly. He insured that the job was long lasting and secure. The front porch had sunken over time. His concrete facing was installed in such a way that future leveling of the porch will be difficult."
