"I have worked with Homes Construction & Fence Co. twice now, once for a wooden privacy fence, and most recently for a black chain-link fence. In both cases, the crew fast fast, did a great job, and were in and out in less than two days. I would highly recommend this service to anyone seeking a fencing pro."

Small jobs welcome

"Tyler did amazing work completely redoing the top level of my porch and even adding a water-proofing system for the downstairs area! The new stairs look amazing as well! I couldn’t be happier with the quality and professionalism he provided! I will be sure to recommend his company to others as well!!"

"It all came together in the end. We had a couple delays due to staffing, but Patrick did work with me on installing the fence in the concrete that was being poured. We had some problems because it was around a pool and he didn't seem that knowledgeable about pool requirements in Hamilton County, so I provided the latch and hinges. I had to move the latch up myself to get through inspection. The reason for the B is because he wanted full payment up front and I thought that was weird and left me at his mercy to finish. But he did and it's all good now. I would hire again."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

As a new homeowner in Dayton, start with a property line check to avoid disputes. Consider installing a privacy fence for backyard seclusion, especially if neighboring homes are close. Front yard fencing can enhance curb appeal and security. If there’s a pool, ensure fencing meets local safety codes. Always review neighborhood guidelines and confirm underground utilities are marked before starting any fence installation.

Helpful?

In Dayton, before installing a fence, have underground lines marked to avoid damaging electric, water, or cable systems. If your property has a septic tank or well, plan your fence layout to steer clear of those areas. Fencing can also impact yard drainage, especially with clay soil, so consider water flow. Mark any irrigation or sprinkler lines to prevent accidental breaks during fence installation.

Helpful?

In Dayton, vinyl fencing is popular for its durability against humidity and minimal maintenance needs. Aluminum fences resist rust, making them ideal for local weather. Pressure-treated pine and cedar are favored for wood fencing due to their ability to withstand frequent rainfall and shifting soil. Chain link with a protective coating is common for utility areas. Local suppliers often stock these materials, ensuring easy access for fence installation projects.

Helpful?

In Dayton, prioritize fence repairs if you notice leaning posts, broken panels, or gates that don’t close securely—these can compromise safety and property lines. Address any storm damage right away, especially if pets or children use the yard. Minor cosmetic issues like chipped paint or slight discoloration can usually wait, but always act quickly if your fence impacts privacy or security.

Helpful?

In Dayton, watch for fence posts that wobble after heavy rain or freeze-thaw cycles, as shifting clay soil can worsen instability. Early signs like greenish stains on wood, flaking paint, or bubbling on metal may indicate moisture damage or rust. Gates that drag or rails that appear warped often signal underlying structural issues, so prompt fence maintenance can prevent more extensive repairs.
