"I am Extremely Happy with the work I received from Clint with Fence Busters! He put in writting a very detailed description of what he would be doing for me. He was very honest and kept his word on when he would have the project done. I highly recommend him and plan on calling him in future needs.?"

"I hired the contractor to remove and replace a barbed wire fence between my property and the national forest behind. I told him the problem was with cows pushing thru my fence. I showed him the bench markers for the ends of my property. Unfortunately he extended into both my neighbor's property and one had nothing but complaints about it being done without his permission. He did not care that his fence got repaired at no cost to him, he was mad because it was done without consulting him. In the future I would recommend that the contractor either sticks to the area he was hired to fix OR to contact the neighbors directly and get their permission. The other neighbor did not care as he knew his fence needed to be fixed eventually."

"Tyler came to remove an old chain link fence from our backyard. Unknowingly, it was more difficult than any of us imagined. The fence had been there since 2008 and grew into the grass. A long and difficult removal, but he did a wonderful job and even cleared up the weeds/grass that grew in between after completion. Will definitely hire Tyler again for any future handyman work we need! Also VERY affordable!"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Barbed wire fences provide cost-effective security, livestock containment, and property protection.

Goats need at least 250 square feet of space each, but that’s if you’re also supplementing hay. Since goats are social animals, you’ll want to avoid renting only one goat, which would take a long time to clear your land, anyway. Instead, opt for at least two goats per 500 square feet of land. Most rental companies will only rent out goats by the acre, but check your local goat rental companies to see if they make exceptions.

Wire fences are generally the most inexpensive type of farm fence to install, especially compared to lumber. Barbed wire is one of the cheapest options due to its simple materials, making it a good choice for low budgets and for confining docile animals in large spaces. Other options include hog wire and woven wire fences, which are strong, long-lasting, and relatively easy to repair. While wire fences require less lumber and reduce overall project costs, they are often considered less aesthetically pleasing than traditional wood fences.

This depends mainly on how well the posts were installed and what type of wood was used to build the gate in the first place. Softwoods have a life expectancy of up to 15 years but can last slightly longer with regular maintenance and waterproofing treatments. By contrast, hardwoods can last up to 30 years with little care, so you may avoid costly replacements by spending a little more upfront.

Because this composite fencing and deck material is made from both wood and plastic, it’s more durable than either alone. It’s so popular for outdoor purposes because it really does stand the test of time. Heavy rain and high heat won’t greatly change its structural integrity; it can last up to 25 years in total with proper care.
