We do not manufacture windows or doors for homes nor do we use Insulated glass. Strafford Window Mfg. manufacturers custom wood windows for barns, sheds, stables, pool houses, cabin, porches and interior applications in the home. Our windows are made of all wood and single strength glass. Call for pricing on Tempered glass. Strafford Window MFG. manufactures Sashes, Transoms, Single Hung Window Units, Hopper Window Units, Fixed Window Units and Screens.

"These windows are solid, well built and look great. I will be ordering more for my house."

We manufacture Advanced Energy Panels (AEPs). AEPs are a retrofit for historic windows or any window people can't afford or don’t wish to replace. AEPs are interior window insulating panels and can be installed in any building –office, home or industrial. AEPs have a higher insulation and air sealing rating and provide greater comfort than most replacement windows, yet they are a fraction of the cost. AEPs are custom made to fit over existing openings, protecting, preserving and improving your existing windows.

Gadsden Hardware is named after the American general and statesman Christopher Gadsden who designed a historical American flag in 1775 used by the Continental Marines when the American Colonies fought the biggest, most powerful military on the planet. Gadsden Hardware was started to help the little guys compete with the big boys-who get wholesale pricing-while everyone else gets gouged paying retail. DON'T PAY RETAIL! Our goal here at Gadsden Hardware is to help ALL Americans get as close as possible to that same wholesale pricing the big boys get. Gadsden Hardware has a simple business model: Tiny Margins = Tons of Customers The Gadsden Hardware Mission is simple: *Providing the best products, warranty and service at the lowest price. *Building long term relationships by doing the right thing for our customers and being a part of their solution. *Putting our customers interests first and helping them however we can. *Providing value to each and every customer day in and day out. *Living by the Golden Rule by treating every customer exactly how we'd want to be treated. We take great pride in our company and in the products we sell. But what we really hang our hat on is our absolute commitment to customer service...that is our unconditional promise to you! Our online store is designed to provide you with a safe and secure environment to browse our product catalog so take a look and remember: When you combine our pricing and service with an industry best guarantee, you've found yourself a home for all your hardware needs. Thank you for your time and consideration. The Gadsden Hardware Team

Remodel Design questions, answered by experts

Because of their lack of curb appeal compared to other home styles and specific interior motifs, split-level homes are not as popular. Because of the many staircases, they don’t always make a suitable home for people as they age. Also, the way their space is divided up leads to less space available for a full primary bedroom.

Many homeowners view sunken living rooms as an outdated architectural feature, as they were prevalent in 1960s and 1970s styles of homes, but have since fallen out of favor. Some homeowners still enjoy the coziness of a sunken living room, but most find it to be an obsolete feature. It’s possible to fill in a sunken living room, but the cost typically tops $10,000.

You can gut and remodel one room at a time. Though the project will take longer overall, there are a few benefits. First, it limits disruptions and allows homeowners to maintain access to a portion of their home while it’s under construction. It also helps homeowners manage their budgets. Not everyone is ready to remodel the whole house at once, and it may be more feasible to slowly upgrade your home over time.

While upgrading your home’s plumbing is an invisible improvement that may be necessary to pass inspection but probably won’t increase your home’s asking price, there are other home improvements that do increase your home’s value, including:

  • Refinishing hardwood floors or installing new carpet

  • Renovating a kitchen

  • Painting the walls

  • Increasing square footage with new bedroom or bathroom

  • Improving curb appeal with fresh paint and landscaping

To make your home more accessible, think about installing a stair lift for smooth transport between floors or a home elevator for easy access in multi-floor homes. Widening doorways helps wheelchairs navigate with ease while grab bars in bathrooms and hallways offer essential support. Consider replacing traditional door knobs with lever handles, which are much easier to use, especially for those with limited hand strength. Whether you tackle small changes or larger renovations, these upgrades can turn your home into a welcoming space for everyone.
