"Mr. Wade Godfrey the technician came bye our residences to inspect our house to see if we needed a pest management plan. As a homeowner I usually do prevention measures in the spring time. The technician was very professional and courtesy. He arrived on time and as scheduled. He actually just shared some ideas with me, and after performing his inspection didn't really feel like I had a pest problem. He share some information about his company and some promotion deals. He was on-site for approximately 30 minutes and offered his services if I felt that they would be needed at a later date. I've decided not to use the company at this time, but I would definitely use them if I need a professional pest management team in the future."

Nathan and his partner Kevin set traps for the raccoons after squirting a pheromone deterrent into the eave. The raccoons had apparently already departed. The traps were never disturbed.
The eaves were sealed with galvanized steel which wrapped from the inside of the gutter around the edge of the roof deck to the top surface. This was done to all gutter lines and all flashing was reinforced. The gable vents were screened.

Nathan, Kevin, and Jeremy worked carefully and neatly. They are vey knowledgable thorough and professional. I highly recommend this company.

"They setup for service went fine.  He came out at the appointed time and provided a quote of his services.  I selected him based on the cost and he was also replacing the company (owner retiring) that previously performed the initial & annual booster termite service in the purchase of my home.  He explained everything he would do as part of his service and he provided a warranty covering termite damage incurred, not just retreat, to home.  So the service was scheduled and everything seem to go accordingly, however I noticed afterwards several wooden beams from backyard walkway were left leaning against my house by the garage.  I contacted him in reference to the beams status, he indicated they should not have been left there.  His guys should have either replaced them or disposed of them.  He recommended although they were treated that it is best the beams are disposed of since they attract termites.  When I asked how to dispose of them, he indicated he would have his guys take care of it and asked when was my garbage pick-up.  Several weeks and phone calls later, the beams were still leaning against my house.  So I eventually disposed of the beams without ever hearing back from the owner.
I also had to contact the company in March to follow-up on my bond certificate that I had not yet received.  I received it by mail as few weeks later.  Follow-thru is a issue with this company.

"I called Justin Ludy, the owner of Palmetto Wildlife Extractors, based on a recommendation from the pest company I have used for many years.  We made an appointment.  During the time they were to be at our house they had an emergency call that required more time and manpower and they were not able to keep our original appointment date.  Justin told his Michael, one of his employees, to make another appointment and correct our problem without charging.  The work was completed very well.  I later called Justin to send him a fee but he refused and made the work a gift since he said they had disrupted my day when the original appointment was not kept.  I certainly appreciated his professinalism and concern for his customers.

"Brad responded quickly to my initial call. I used Angie's List reviews in my decision to call Allstar. He came out to my house the next day to investigate the scratching noises I had recently heard in the ceiling and wall spaces. After inspecting the attic and the crawl space under the house, Brad quickly determined that it was rats (and possibly mice). He asked me relevant questions about sights, sounds, and smells I may have experienced and helped me understand the behavior of rodents. My house is small, yet he spent an hour and a half with me walking around my house (inside and outside) and pointing out small places of entry on the outside for rodents to enter the attic and crawlspace. Brad answered all of my numerous questions and provided a fair estimate of the cost for rat traps, removal, and closure of all entry points during the initial visit/consultation. He followed up the next day with an e-mailed quote of the work to be performed with a one-year warranty on repairs for rat re-entry. I was very impressed by Brad's level of professionalism and knowledge, as well as his patience with someone who was very freaked out about having rodents hanging out in her attic and crawlspace. He returned the next day, set three traps in the attic and three in the crawlspace. A few hours later, a fat rat set off a trap in the attic - a very loud, 30-second drama. I immediately texted him to let him know (about 7pm), he responded by text, and returned the next day to remove the remains of a stupid, fat rat. (He looked fat when Brad showed it to me.)  A few days later, the fat rat's accomplice was captured and killed in the crawlspace. Brad and his assistant re-baited and left the traps a few more days, and began the repair work to close off entry points. They also did some additional work to prevent bats in the gable vents. And Brad also volunteered to do a few extra things for me like changing flood lights that were extremely high on my house. He left the traps three more days to be certain all of the rodents had been captured. I highly recommended Allstar, and would definitely use them again for their services.

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

You’ll want to locate all areas in your home that could be a potential entry point for mice, such as doors, windows, vents, baseboards, holes, and cracks in your home’s foundation. Don’t forget to check less-obvious areas like the attic, plumbing and sewers, and even the roof and gutters. If you check these spots and don’t find any signs of mice, consider hiring a pest control pro to dig deeper into potential hiding spots.

When woodpeckers start banging on your walls or roof, they are probably looking for insects to eat, storing nuts for winter, drilling a hole to make a nest, or communicating with other birds to establish territory or find a mate.

The size of the hole can help determine the reason for the pecking. Small irregular holes are a result of insect hunts. Acorn holes are more consistently sized and often fitted with a nut in the middle. Nest holes are large and have rounded edges. If the bird is pecking to mark its territory or attract a mate, it may leave dents rather than holes, and the noise will stop when the mating season starts in spring.

Finding mouse droppings without seeing any mice is a common sign of an infestation because mice are nocturnal and skilled at hiding from humans. Droppings are often the first and most visible evidence of their presence. The location, quantity, and freshness of the droppings can help you determine where the mice are most active and how severe the infestation might be. Since mice are active at night and often travel through hidden pathways like inside walls, you may not see them directly. It's important to look for other signs of an infestation, such as gnaw marks, scratching sounds, or greasy trails along walls. If you find droppings, consider setting traps or contacting a professional exterminator to address the issue.

Some species of bees (not to mention hornets) are aggressive and dangerous to have in your walls. If they swarm in anger or defense, they could badly hurt people in your home. Other species of bees are largely harmless and many people live in close proximity to them.

Either way, bees making hives in your walls usually causes damage. It can contribute to moisture problems, and attract other pests. Those problems get even worse if honeycombs build up. So we strongly suggest you find a way to keep bees from taking up permanent residence.

If the nest is on or in your home, you should have an exterminator remove it. However, if the wasp nest is in an area of your yard that you don't frequent, you can leave it alone as long as the wasps don’t bother your household members. Wasps are very active during the summer months, but they will vacate in the fall and not return until the following year. So, if it's safe to do so, you can leave it, but if it poses a threat of being stung because it's in an area that you use frequently, consider having it removed.
