"It went fantastic. My wife had gone to the hospital for a total left hip replacement. After the operation the surgeon told me there had been some complications and told me I would need hand rails in my garage from the garage floor up 4 steps to the kitchen hallway for her to get in the house after his release of her from the hospital. I did not have hand rails on those steps or the front porch steps either. He told me they would be required because of the serious nature of her conditon. This was her second operation in three and 1/2 weeks. I googled fence contractors in lexington, sc with and 5 fence companies came up. Hendrix Fence company was the first one with a phone number. This was on a Wed and I needed the rails up in 48 hours. I knew it was a very short time frame and went ahead and called Hendrix Fence Co. A very compashinate lady named Jennie Hendrix answered the phone and I told her of my plight and asked if her company could please do me this favor on the short notice. She said she would have her son call me shortly. Her son did call me within 20 minutes from the time I talked to his mother Jennie, said he was close by and would come by within the hour. He did come by and said he could do the job on Friday morning two days later. He had to fabricate and weld some pieces in his shop on Thursday and would be at my house to install the railings Friday at 9:30 am with his brother. They showed up on time Friday and did the install which was stellar in about 2 hours. It was cold and rainy those two days but they did not complain, had excellent attitudes and gave me exactly what I needed for my wife to come to come home that same day by ambulance. After my initial contact Mrs. Jennie Hendrix, Her husband Mr. David Hendrix , Sr. called me to make sure his son had contacted me and said the job would be done right and on time in 48 hours. I have dealt with all kind of contractors all my life but have never, ever dealt with a company like Hendrix Fence Co. in Gaston, SC that serves the Lexington, SC area. I had talked with 5 other companies about my immediate needs for my wife and the all said they could not even come look at the job until January 2, 2019. Waiting till then was "not an option" and Jennie Hendrix said she understood my short term needs and would help me immediately. Hendrix Fence Co., the owners Jennie and David Hendrix and their two sons who did the installation within 48 hours of call for help were the greatest, and most caring people who understood my immediate needs and were willing to go the extra mile on 2 days notice to help me out. They are a family operation who have been in business 30 years and know how to treat a customer right. I cannot say how much their concern and follow-up have helped me and my wife. We are both 76 years old and it's great to know that there some people and companies that still care about their customers and reputation. I would rate them 10+ stars if I could. I recommend them highly to anyone who needs even a small job like mine or any kind of fencing or structures of any type put on there property. I cannot thank them enough. E. "Limitless Fencing was a pleasure to deal with, and built a great fence with two sturdy gates. Multiple people have commented on how good the fencing looks, and I would not hesitate to hire them again."

"RacPro responded quickly and sent a written quote which we accepted. We did have to wait for 4 weeks but Victor was very responsive to texts. He arrived early on the scheduled day, completed painting the fence and cleaned up the yard as expected. Victor is very professional and had pride in his work, we would use him again as the fence looks great."

"Dan was very prompt in scheduling the appointment to give an estimate.  He really wanted the work and offered a discount if he could go ahead and get started.  He was very fast.  The only criticism I have is that he didn't sink the fence posts very deep and used a 4x4 post for a gate post so the fence is a little wobbly and the gate already sags a bit.  The biggest issue is that we agreed to a "dog-eared" picket and he set the top rail in line with the top of the pickets rather than a few inches below as most fences are so you cannot see the dog-eared top of the pickets.  I was not able to see the pickets clearly in the pictures he sent (I do not live in the house where he was doing the fence).  When I did see them, the job was finished and I had already paid him.  In fairness, I did not demand that he re do the fence, because there would be no way to do it without taking the fence completely apart.  My issue is that he is the fence guy and I should not have to be the one to also say, "oh, by the way, be sure the dog eared pickets show."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

There’s no definitive answer to this question because dog owners and experts are conflicted about the efficacy and morality of electric fences. However, physical fences are typically considered a better option since they provide guaranteed containment for your pup, provided they are tall enough, and your dog can’t dig under them. Physical fences can also provide privacy, which might stop your dog from barking at people or animals walking by. Physical dog fences tend to be more expensive, but most homeowners find them to be a better option overall.

Pallet fences come with built-in support through the fence posts you should install on each side of their vertical interior. Stand the fence upright and slide it onto the fence posts, then further support it with 2x4 wood boards that you drill across each point where two pallets connect side-by-side.

The legal implications of installing barbed wire fencing will vary from city to city. You should check your local regulations to see if barbed wire fencing is allowed, and what restrictions exist. For instance, some municipalities might require that your fence be a certain height and a certain distance from your home.

If 20% or more of your fence is damaged, pros will often tell you that it’s a better use of your money to replace the fence entirely. Severe rotting and insect damage always call for a replacement. However, if you’re just dealing with a few loose posts or a little bit of mildew growth, you can repair the fence.

There are many pros and cons to vinyl and composite fencing. Both fencing types offer longer lifespans than wood fencing, with some notable advantages. Whether one is better for you will depend on a few factors. Composite is better if you prefer recycled materials, while vinyl is extremely easy to clean.

Also, consider the disadvantages: vinyl can be more expensive, while composite fencing fades during the first six months.
