If your house is full of things that attract spiders, you’re more likely to have a population explosion. When you have lots of cracks leading to warm, secure spots in your home, why wouldn’t they want to come in? Third, if you have access to part of the nest like mud tubes, you can scour away a section and watch it. If the tubes don’t get repaired, the nest is probably doomed. Again, it can take several weeks for termites to fully go away, depending on the type of treatment.

The simple answer is that food attracts moles to your yard. These creatures have a powerful sense of smell, and they’re looking for their next meal, i.e., grubs, earthworms, ants, and other insects. Moist, loose soil also makes it easier for them to travel, so an overwatered lawn could attract them. Male moles might make their way into your yard to expand their territory or look for a new mate. And if your neighbor has moles, there’s a good chance they may tunnel over to your yard.

Vinegar can keep some animals at bay, like deer, rabbits, foxes, and raccoons. Keep in mind that your household pets, like cats and dogs, also don’t like the smell of vinegar. You can soak rags in white vinegar and put them up around your garden beds to keep the pesky critters from eating your plants.

If you spot two or more cockroaches inside your home, you should hire an exterminator to conduct an inspection and provide eradication treatments. If you see one cockroach and no others, it may have been a stray that wandered inside. Don’t hesitate to call an exterminator as soon as you see more than one cockroach in your home.
