"Shout out to Frank for more beautiful floor work. Our kitchen keeps getting better and better! Take a look at this tile. Wish we had found Cransten earlier, but we WILL be coming back to them."

"Hector and his team are hard working and completed an amazing job at one of our rental properties. We highly recommend them and would reach out to them for future projects. 3 bedrooms, 1 living area, 1 kitchen, 2 flights of stairs. Exceptional job installing LVPs. ☺️"

"I had an extremely tricky, heavily-pattered tile installation for a fireplace surround. It required mad design skills and precision measuring to cover up the bare metal and still line up symmetrically on top, bottom, and sides. These folks nailed the design. Grout and spacing were perfect to reveal the intricate pattern and bring out internal images. Beautiful work! Exceeded my expectations by a longshot!"

"Billy did an outstanding job. He was very well priced. Meticulous in the installation. Cleaned out gutters and installed leaf guards. Billy goes the extra mile and points out other issues that one may have. Provides a plan for remediation. When you contract Billy, you get more than your money’s worth. He looks out for his customers."

"the job went great! The contact/responsiveness at first was slow, but they may have been super busy. However, once we were able to connect everything went great. I was super impressed with the punctuality in every visit. It's not often that contractors arrive on time as promised. But Harv Tile staff arrived as indicated every time, this let's me know they respect my time as much as theirs. They were professional, efficient and did a great job in the final product. Would definitely recommend them and will hire again!"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Thinset mortar is the best adhesive for ceramic tiles on concrete. It is easy to work with and has a slower dry time than mastic or epoxy mortars. This longer dry time gives the installer more time to adjust tiles, which is especially useful for DIYers who may not have tile installation experience. It can also be built up to help level any depressions or gaps in the concrete subfloor.

It’s important to leave a gap in the corner when tiling to allow room for tile expansion. Leaving between one eighth of an inch to one tenth of an inch is enough space.

For best results, you should remove the toilet in a bathroom before removing tile or installing new tile. If you don’t remove the toilet, it will be harder to fully waterproof the tile around the toilet, which could increase the risk of mold growth or plumbing leaks. If you have trouble removing the toilet, hire a plumber to help.

No, tiling over painted walls or wallpapered surfaces is generally not recommended. Textured surfaces and paints will affect the adhesive, possibly causing tiles to lift or fall off. Painted walls with a semi-gloss or high-gloss finish are particularly difficult for adding tiles. It’s wise to strip the paint first if you install the tiles to drywall, although it’s still best to opt for a cement backer board.

Tile floor installation usually takes about 16 hours of active work along with a couple of days of drying time between tile and grout applications.

The amount of time it takes your installer will depend on many factors, including the square footage of the space, the tile material type, and if they need to make intricate tile cuts.
