Phenomenal work from these guys! Performed all tasks we needed with great customer service and met deadlines with time to spare! DREHER SEPTIC TANK SVC
5.0
Eric Dreher owns this service. He came to our home promptly to check out a plugged tank. We thought it might be time for the tank to be emptied, however, Eric checked it out and determined it was just plugged up. He unplugged it for us and DID NOT charge us for his time! He came a half hour out of his way. He will be the only service we ever use. Very professional and friendly as well...

Jesse's Well and Pump Repair

Jesse answered the phone early on a Monday morning courteously and professionally. I was scheduled for a same day quote. Jesse called back after I scheduled to say he'd moved his schedule around to have people out earlier than planned. We are a large family and had no running water, he went above and beyond. His team arrived, diagnosed and repaired the well-pump in an hour

Naturally this type of event happened on a Friday evening as I returned from work. Immediately I ventured to Angie's List and started making phone calls. Jason Cottrell the owner of Cottrell &Co indicated that he would venture by the next morning at 7am. He indicated he would contact his best fellow to consult about septic systems. Promptly at 7 am Jason arrived and soon after the fellow whom I thought he was just going to call also showed up. I learned a lot about our system and Jason was an excellent find. He quickly ruled out a thing or two and basically uncovered the problem which was roots clogging up the system

Every time someone came out, they were very friendly and professional. The only complaint I'd share is that when they drained the septic tank, they did so into the yard! Because it was on an incline, the sewage was draining through the yard and into the lake. The neighbors complained of the smell (I don't blame them) and DHEC came out because they were contacted. Otherwise, they were very friendly, polite, professional and knowledgeable about their work

I cannot say enough about this group. Our installer was wonderful and very professional. This was a big job and they made sure to do a very thorough job and clean up after themselves. The job took a little bit longer than originally planned but they were upfront about this and it did not inconvenience me in any way. Also, my exterminator said they did a really nice job underneath the house and he was impressed with their work (good because I was not about to go underneath there!) I will definitely use them for my future plumbing needs. Price wise, Cotrell was right in the middle. They were not the cheapest quote I received on the job but were also not the most expensive. Right in the sweet spot

It went pretty good. I ever had any trouble with them. The last time they came, they had dug up the wrong part so they had to redig. They didn't charge us extra for this.
"Excellent service. Returned my phone call promptly. Not only pumped our tank empty, but made sure to snake out the line thoroughly to ensure that our line was clean with no clogs. Didn't just run the snake quickly, but stayed at it until our drain line water was running clean."

"It went well that day. The guys they sent over were professional. We were pleased with their service at the time, and we were happy to have our toilets and showers usable again.

However, two days after they "fixed" the problem, the problem came back. We called Apple Services to see about having someone come out again to fix the problem. Their dispatch person told us that she didn't think we'd get charged for the service again since it was such a short time after the problem was fixed. She said that she would get in touch with the guys who performed the service and she would call us back and let us know for sure. She called us back and informed us that they would actually charge us the same price to fix the same problem that they just "fixed" two days ago. They said that they did not warranty the work because it was a blockage that was apparently caused by "too much" going into the pipes.

I rated them a "C" in Quality because, although they we able to get our toilet to flush properly, the problem came back within two days. The way I understand it is that they are saying this is our fault for putting "too much" down the toilet, but I feel that if the blockage was truly cleared, it would have taken more than two days for it to reach this point again. The fact that the problem reoccurred so soon leaves me to believe that the blockage wasn't totally cleared after all.

I rated them a "D" in Professionalism because I feel that if they had any integrity, they would have came out and fixed the problem for a minimal price, if anything. I would totally understand charging us the same price if we called weeks or months later, but seriously...two days?

I understand that plumbers usually don't warranty stoppage but since the issue returned after only two days, I'd say that the problem wasn't actually fixed. We actually had another plumber, from a different company, come out and were informed that the blockage wasn't even cleared.

Replacing a drain field requires digging up quite a bit of land and involves a decent amount of testing. Using this guide, you’ll learn how much it costs to replace a drain field based on a few key factors such as size and type of septic system.
Answer: There are several signs that indicate your septic tank could be full. These include standing water over your septic tank, a strong odor coming from your yard, gurgling water, slow drains, or a sewage backup. While many of these signs could also be indicative of a clogged system, they should all be checked out by a professional ASAP to avoid costly damages. In the absence of any of these signs, it’s recommended that septic tanks be emptied every 3 to 5 years on average.
How often should a septic tank be serviced?
Answer: On average, septic tanks should be serviced every 3 to 5 years in the absence of any worrying signs that the tank is clogged or full. The size of your septic tank, the number of people living in your home, and your average water usage will all impact how often your septic tank needs to be serviced.
What are the most common causes of septic tank failure?
Answer: The most common cause of septic tank failure is improper maintenance. Failing to pump a septic tank on the appropriate schedule will cause septic tank failure and likely result in a costly septic tank repair or replacement. On average, septic tanks should be pumped every 3 to 5 years, but the size of your tank, the number of people in your home, and your average water usage may shorten or extend this timeframe.
How much does it cost to pump a septic tank?
Answer: The cost to pump a septic tank is $400 on average or about $0.30 per gallon. The size of your septic tank, as well as local labor costs, will impact the cost of pumping your septic tank. Most septic tanks are between 600 and 2,000 gallons in size, meaning the average cost range is between $180 to $600.
How much does it cost to install a septic system?
Answer: The cost to install a septic tank system is between $3,060 and $9,810, on average. The size of the septic tank you choose, the land you’re installing it on, the type of system you choose, and local labor costs will all influence the total cost of installing a septic system. Anaerobic septic tanks (those that don’t need oxygen) typically cost between $3,000 and $8,000. Aerobic systems, which utilize oxygen to activate bacteria and are popular on smaller properties, usually cost between $10,000 and $20,000.
How long does a septic system last?
Answer: When septic systems are well maintained, they can last up to 30 years or more. If a septic system isn’t properly maintained, such as when it isn’t pumped regularly, it may malfunction and require costly repairs or a premature replacement. In general, septic tank pumping is recommended every 3 to 5 years to ensure the septic system lasts as long as possible.
