"I highly recommend Ortiz, they removed 3 large trees from my backyard and trimmed another tree. They had to work around a chain link fence, a pool and other trees, and did it flawlessly. They brought a crew of 8-10 people and they worked nonstop and did an extraordinary of cleaning up afterwards. The price was good also. Thank you Ortiz"

"I am very pleased with the work performance of B & B Landscaping and Tree, LLC 's team in trimming a large tree in my backyard. Mr. Will Brown and his crew were punctual, professional, and efficient in getting the job done. I felt that the price of the task was reasonable and I would recommend this business to anyone who wants their tree project done right!"

"Hired this team for large tree removal and trimming project. Could not have been happier with the results. Once they could get the schedule aligned they were courteous and diligent to stay with the job and see it through to completion. My main praise is based on the clean up. Having used other tree removal services - I am overly happy with the clean up for the entire project. Strongly recommend John Thompson and his team!"

"Juan came out - looked at the tree issue and did an amazing job at cutting back two trees that were all over the place. I was shocked at how beautiful the tress became. He will come back in winter to trim back once the trees are no longer in bloom. Juan and his team cleaned up the yard from all the debris! They were fast and efficient. Would recommend!! 1&2 pic before 3&4 after"

"We had Mathis Tree & Land Solutions come out and remove several large leaning Leland Cypress trees along with an old pine tree before a big snow storm hit. They did an outstanding job from start to finish. The crew was professional, fast, and made safety their top priority. They showed up on time, worked hard, and cleaned everything up when they were done. We were very impressed with how efficiently they handled such dangerous trees and gave us peace of mind before the storm. Highly recommend Mathis Tree & Land Solutions for any tree work or land services ? great people and excellent work!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Yes, carefully prune back dead branches—don’t wait for pruning season. This helps keep your maple tree healthy and also helps prevent large branches from falling unexpectedly. Don’t seal the cut branch—trees can naturally take care of these wounds—but be sure to remove any source of fungus or pest infestation to help save the tree.

Leaving a dead tree can expose your other trees to potential diseases, pests, and fungi, and it can also be a hazard. If your tree is dead, then you should hire a tree maintenance service to remove it. Cutting down trees is extremely dangerous, and a professional can ensure no one gets hurt and there is no damage to your property. Tree removal costs between $200 and $2,000 and will prevent future issues and keep you and your property safe.

Homeowners are usually not responsible for trees that fall on power lines. Power companies usually have utility easements around power lines, which give them the responsibility to maintain any trees within about 15 to 20 feet of the lines.

Signs include dead branches, growth over structures, diseases, pests, or roots impacting hardscapes.

For trimming trees, your best tool is a pair of pruning shears or loppers. Both options work best for branches that are under 3 inches in diameter. Trimming trees with a larger diameter may require a robust tool like a small chainsaw or a handsaw, so take into account your tree’s diameter when deciding between tools.
