In my experience that's what really matters. Every company claims, "best service", "best technicians", "best customer service", etc. These attributes are all fine, and every company should strive for this level of service, but at the end of the day what does it matter if you're charging an arm and a leg? "This was for our rental property; we live in another state. Explained the simple problems over the phone, asked for a plumber. The work took three visits and several weeks because they kept sending unqualified technicians (they sent electricians) who did not know how to properly complete the work. I don't think it's fair that even after describing the problem over the phone and asking specifically for a plumber, and them assuring us that they would be able to provide a plumber, they repeatedly sent other tradesmen AND charged us for it each time! All their paperwork says not to pay until you are satisfied with the job but they were pressuring us to pay anyway, and being difficult about coming out to fix their work. Even after $100 in military discounts, our bill was still $500 - their fees are outrageous. We didn't want to end up being sent to collections, so we finally just paid them what they said we owed so we could get rid of them, drove the eight hours to the property and fixed it ourselves in less than an hour for $13, (and we're not plumbers). Very dissatisfied. Beware."

The square footage of your room will dictate the correct ceiling fan blade size. For example: 

  • Rooms smaller than 75 square feet require a fan that is 29 to 36 inches.

  • Rooms up to 175 square feet require 42- to 48-inch fans.

  • Rooms up to 350 square feet require 52- to 56-inch fans.

  • Expansive spaces over 350 square feet need a fan larger than 60 inches.

There are several telltale signs to let you know that your ceiling fan needs servicing or replacement. For instance, if it’s wobbling, rotating too slowly, or if your ceiling fan is making noise such as squeaks, buzzes, and thumps, it’s time to have it looked at by a professional. Not only may it indicate a potential problem with the fan itself, but it could also signal a red flag that it’s improperly assembled or there’s an issue with the wiring.

Fan power is measured by CFM, or cubic feet per minute. For every 1,000 feet of square footage in your attic, you need a minimum of 700 CFM. Steeper roofs may need larger fans or about 840 CFM.  You can figure the size of attic fan you need by multiplying the square footage of your attic floor by 0.7. (multiply by 1.2 for a steep roof and 1.15 for a dark roof). That number is the CFM required for your fan to run efficiently.

Coffered ceilings often come with additional embellishments and accessories, including tin panels, medallions, trim, molding, recessed lights, and finials. Whether you’re looking for a simple grid pattern or want an elaborate, decorative ceiling with all the bells and whistles, there are plenty of options to choose from.

Many ceiling fan mounts feature a design that can accommodate slight slopes by using a ball joint mechanism at the end of the downrod. If your ceiling has a steeper slope than your fan allows for, you can install a downrod that will allow your fan to safely hang below the slope.
