"communication with the staff was pretty lousy. But once work began everything seemed good. My only issue was we were told that an inspector would come out and check work for and remove the building permit of the door, and they would send pictures of the work they did that never happened. We are still having the same problems. Plus the vapor barrier was destroyed and wanted us to pay to replace it. we thought it was new pretty much. Bottom line we never saw the inspector."

"Showed up on time and began the job immediately. Hard workers, cleaned up afterwards. Maria came out for an estimate then came out again after we decided to add pavers under our swing. Would definitely recommend Maria, Marco and crew"

"Art was very punctual, courteous, professional and experienced at his trade. He listened and communicated well. He did primarily brick and mortar joint work for me and the quality of his work was outstanding. I thought he went the extra mile by making some improvements that were above and beyond. I sure appreciated it. He completed the work on time and for a reasonable price. I highly recommend him and will use him again for future work I have in his area of expertise."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

Myrtle Beach homes are ideal for masonry work if they show signs of salt air damage, have sandy or shifting soil, or are exposed to frequent storms. Homes with outdated brickwork, visible cracks, or poor drainage benefit from modern masonry techniques. If you want to improve storm resistance or restore classic coastal architecture, a professional assessment can help determine the best approach.

Helpful?

In Myrtle Beach, unexpected masonry costs often stem from weather delays, especially during hurricane season, and the need for moisture barriers due to high humidity. Homes near the coast may require salt-resistant materials and extra foundation stabilization for sandy soils. Additional expenses can come from HOA approvals, permit fees, and uncovering hidden structural issues once work begins, particularly in older or storm-damaged homes.

Helpful?

It’s time to schedule masonry work in Myrtle Beach if you notice crumbling mortar, loose bricks, or water stains on walls after heavy rain. Annual inspections after hurricane season are wise, as coastal weather can accelerate wear. Look for signs like white efflorescence, bulging walls, or vegetation growing in joints—these all indicate your masonry may need timely repairs.

Helpful?

Myrtle Beach homeowners have access to eco-friendly masonry options such as reclaimed bricks, recycled concrete, and locally sourced stone that reduce environmental impact. Insulated concrete forms and permeable pavers help with energy efficiency and stormwater management. Choosing materials suited for coastal climates and working with contractors experienced in sustainable building can further enhance your home’s resilience and efficiency.

Helpful?

In Myrtle Beach, smaller masonry jobs like chimney repointing usually take about one to two weeks, while larger projects such as retaining walls or foundation repairs can last several weeks. Extensive restorations may extend over a few months. Weather interruptions, permit processing, and the availability of coastal-specific materials can influence timelines, so planning around hurricane season is recommended.
