I was very pleased with the work done. The lean-to roof was too shallow in comparison to the main barn roof and had no flashing which was causing water to pool. The service was scheduled but the first hiccup occurred when no one called to confirm the appointment the day before. I had to call and leave a message to check and see if they were coming. I got a call late the morning of the appointment.
The estimator was nice. We explained that we wanted 3 estimates. He agreed that he understood this. We wanted to understand the cost related to repair the damaged area; the cost related to repair the area and the all the tiles on the pool; and lastly what it would cost if we repaired all the decking along with the pool tiles. Before he left, he said we would see the different costs split out on the estimate.
An estimate was emailed to us a few days later. It was for #3...all the decking and all the repairs and tile replacement. Also, we told the estimator we didn't need an acid wash or pool empty because we already had someone else doing that. The acid wash was included in the quote. I called and left a voicemail asking if the manager could call me and explain the quote becuase i wanted to understand how the costs split out to make a decision on what we should do. NO ONE returned my call. This seems like a common theme with this company in the other reviews customers have left. The do not have good follow through.
After i left a second message a week later, the assistant called me and said that she checked with the owner and they were going to respectfully decline the work. I didn't get a chance to make a decision...they just assumed i didn't want to do all the work. I at first tried to get the girl to understand what I was trying to figure out but then decided it wasn't worth it. I don't want to give my business to someone who doesn't want the job.
Even if we only had the decking and tiles repaired we would have ended up using this company more for other pool work and upgrades. They decided they couldn't be bothered with establishing a relationship with a customer. Our backyard was being overtaken by our ground cover--you would have to have seen it to believe it. He came out and took a look at the job before committing and said he would be able to do it in about 4 hours so we set up the day and approximate time. When he arrived he went right to work and had it trimmed up beautifully within about 2 hours so we had him do the same for 6 other areas of ground cover in the front yard. Everything was cleaned up and finished within the 4 hour time table and looked fantastic. In 4 hours! We had had two other people come and give us an estimate. One said it would take a team of three people 6-8 hours to accomplish. So needless to say we were very very pleased. We would highly recommend this company! I was out of town. there was a bill in my mailbox for the repair so as I like to pay my bills quickly I sent them a check. however when I had time I went round to check all was ok I saw the leak was worse than it had been before they came out. I have a grounds man / handyman that works for me full time. I asked him about the leak and he said after the technician left he went round to check it and he saw it was still leaking. however as I was out of town at the time and he did not know what company I had used he did not know who to call. I called the company on Wednesday august 20th but their phone was out of order all day. I called again on Thursday 21st to be told that they would call the technician to come back and look at it and he would call me. he did not call me that day.so being a patient person and knowing it was a busy time for pool people I waited until Monday 25th august. I got their bookkeeper who told me someone would call me back. I waited all day for a call that never came. I called again and got a voice mail, so I left word on the voicemail that I was told someone would call me back, but no return call. I decided after 4 phone calls I was not going to waste my time anymore and got another company to fix it. I was actually very surprised at this company as I have been doing business for years with them and had never any problems and I always paid my bills quickly so they would not have to wait 30 days for my money "},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/sc/aiken/aiken-swimming-pool-company-reviews-422943.htm"},"position":8},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Aqua Blue Pools","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"SC","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Tiffany B."},"reviewBody":"We found Aqua Blue on Angie's List & were not dissappointed. PF&P did install the pool filter, but no additional work was completed. My Husband and I were wanting to purchase natural stone to install on the spa spillover. After several discussions with the contractor, PF&P informed us that if we could not get the material within his time line, he would not be making a trip back to complete the spa. Upon notification that we were not satisfied with his decision regarding the spa, he became very unprofessional, throwing material around, along with his cell phone. He was extremely rude to my Husband when my Husband tried to explain that we were not going to settle on cheap materials just to get the job completed. My Husband and I decided that we would contact a local contractor to complete the spa spillover. We informed PF&P that they could finish the rest of the job, but not the spa. PF&P only showed up for 1.5 hours a week later to complete the filter install. After phoning a couple of times asking when he would return to complete the job, when asked, he hung up on me. PF&P left us with an unfinished patio, an uninstalled pool light, and a big mess in our back yard. The concrete that he claimed to have cut and removed was actually buried among clay and sand that he had applied on top of the concrete area. He did not remove the cut concrete nor did he cut the area of concrete he was hired to cut and remove. The conduit for the light was installed but not the pool light. I would not recommend this contractor. Very unprofessional. "},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/sc/lugoff/pfandp-construction-reviews-6322449.htm"},"position":10}]}

FAQs for pool table assembly projects in Mccormick, SC
The average cost to hire a handyman ranges from about $40 to $140 per hour. Average project cost ranges between $180 and $700, but the cost per hour and per project depends heavily on the type, size, and complexity of the project. The pro’s experience level and your location also factor into how much a handyman charges per hour or per project. You can also expect to pay higher rates or additional fees for emergency services, or around periods of high customer demand, like holidays.
Tipping a handyman is not a requirement or necessarily expected, as they should build a fair wage into the price of the job. However, some people will tip a handyman around $10 to $20 per hour or the equivalent of a day’s pay, depending on the size of the job. But it’s up to your discretion. There are no set rules for tipping a handyman service, but if they did a great job and you’re so inclined to tip, it’s encouraged and will likely be received with thanks.
Do you have any before and after photos of your work?
How long have you been doing this kind of work?
Do you clean up and dispose of waste when the job is finished?
Yes, you should hire a handyman who’s licensed, certified, and insured, if possible. States have different requirements for handyman licensing, registration, and certifications. If licensing is required in your area, you may pay more for a licensed handyman with experience than one who is not licensed or certified, but you’re likely to get a better end result for your project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local handymen guidelines.
