"AC stopped working on a hot summer evening. Called Ted after hours and he actually answered my call personally. I explained the problem and Ted said he would come the next day. He arrived the following morning, quickly diagnosed the problem and repaired the unit for a reasonable price. I’m a repeat customer and I highly recommend Ted Cook—reliable, highly skilled, and perhaps most importantly, honest."

"Aire Serv did a great job for me. Tuned up my main AC unit. I expected more charges but everything checked out fine. Thanks! The technician ran short of time, due to the rain. He could only get to one of the units and said they would follow up the next day to reschedule. Unfortunately, they did not follow up and I've not had the second unit completed."

"Steve and Lee were great to work with. Super knowledgeable and took great care in their work. I got two quotes and theirs came in the lowest. Have already recommended them to friends looking for HVAC work. If you are looking for work that is done right and at a fair price, this is it."

"Robert and Paul took the time to look at my AC unit and test the system when I was having issues. Robert explained in detail and showed me what he was doing along the way. They gave me an honest opinion about my AC unit after testing and troubleshooting the issues. I appreciate their honesty and integrity in the entire process - it really gave me peace of mind in deciding on a new unit/investment. I had them install a new AC unit. They were prompt, professional, and cleaned everything up before they left! I now have a cool home! Definitely recommend Integrity HVAC. Thank you!! ?"

"I would highly recommend First Class for your heating and air needs. My AC went out and they were able to come the same day and fix the problem. Shelby who coordinates scheduling went above and beyond to schedule me that day. She was friendly, courteous and professional. Jonathan Pepper was the tech who came out and repaired my unit. He was knowledgeable, professional and had the best attitude. I could not have asked for better service."

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Air filters with a high MERV rating, 11 or above, shouldn't cause airflow problems in most residential systems. However, the airflow can be restricted in some HVAC systems if they aren't designed for high MERV ratings. If in doubt, a local duct installer should inspect your ductwork so that you know what your system can handle.

You can adjust uneven airflow in your home by adjusting the dampers on the vents. However, if the temperature feels consistent throughout the home, don’t worry too much about uneven airflow. Generally speaking, larger rooms should receive more airflow than smaller rooms, especially if they only have one vent.

Yes, a frozen AC unit can affect your indoor air quality since the reduced airflow won't be as effective at removing air pollutants, like dust and other allergens. Additionally, ice around the unit can create excess moisture, leading to mold and mildew that can damage your home if you don’t catch it early.

When an evaporator coil becomes faulty, it can result in various problems within your HVAC system. These problems could include reduced cooling or heating capabilities due to ice formation and obstructed airflow, along with increased energy consumption and higher bills. Additionally, a damaged coil may lead to refrigerant leaks, which are environmentally harmful and decrease overall system efficiency.

Ultimately, if not addressed right away, a bad evaporator coil can even lead to a complete failure of your HVAC system. That’s why timely repair or replacement is crucial to maintaining your family’s comfort and your HVAC’s efficiency.

They can, but it’s not as common. Window AC units are much smaller than whole-house systems and less likely to develop refrigerant leaks or similar issues. As a result, you will rarely need to add a new refrigerant, limiting overcharging problems. However, it’s still important to leave refrigerant management in the hands of professionals when window units need work.
