"Al was fantastic! He clearly explained that my fireplace was shutting off as a safety feature due to low oxygen levels. He also reassembled the logs in the firebox and showed me the proper way to start and stop the fireplace. Highly recommend his service!"

"This company is great! I got an appointment within 3 days. They arrived on time, did a complete fireplace safety inspection and took pictures. They explained where the issues were, and told us how they would need to be fixed. Worked all afternoon and got the job done. Would definitely recommend this company to anyone needing chimney, fireplace or masonry repairs."

"They were great to work with. They did an oil to gas conversion and kept me informed of what was happening. Their customer service was the best I've seen so far. I would hire them again and recommend them to anyone I know."

Small jobs welcome

"Derek was professional, punctual, and offered a fair price for the work. He took the time to inspect my chimney with his drone and shared detailed photos, clearly explaining the areas of the stonework that needed attention. The quality of his work was excellent, and he left the area so clean you could hardly tell he had been there; except for the beautiful new chimney cap. I highly recommend Derek for anyone looking for honest, skilled, and reliable chimney work."

"Zack and Rob from Certified Chimney were outstanding to work with. I requested their services for inspection of a chimney in a historic (late 1700’s) property I am in the process of purchasing. Certified Chimney’s appointment process was straightforward, and worked well. I got a call from Zack when he was 35 minutes out. He and Rob were extremely courteous, cheerful, and professional throughout the inspection. They obviously have deep knowledge of chimney systems, and a wealth of experience in dealing with them. Zack and Rob performed a very thorough inspection of the chimney, including the furnace flue as well as the fireplace and its flue, from basement to roof and chimney top. They identified and clearly explained a number of problems, and outlined what they saw the options to be for addressing them. Seriously, their explanations and contemplation of the specific, rather complex situation in this house were truly excellent. Additionally, they took and provided me with clear, useful photos for reference, and I am anticipating an accompanying written report - be sure to request this additional service if you need it for something like a real estate transaction (thank you, George!). I was most impressed, and highly recommend Certified Chimney’s inspection services."

"Scott was attentive to our request. Over the phone, he was honest about not wanting to estimate the problem - so as not to give inaccurate information. Although he wasn't able to work on the problem - do to an out of date heater - he pulled on his resources, called his fellow plumbers, and gave us an alternative plan, including a trusted company that was, in the end, able to solve the problem for us. In the future, we will feel confident calling on Scott again."

Gas Logs questions, answered by experts

Appliances typically connected to a gas line include gas stoves, water heaters, furnaces, and gas fireplaces. Essentially, any appliance in your home that uses gas needs to be connected to a gas line, which connects your home with the main gas line owned and operated by your gas company.

Gas grill installation costs around $540 on average, not including the price of the actual grill, and most homeowners pay between $120 and $1,400. This total will go toward laying down a new gas line, connecting it to your existing gas system, pressure testing the line, and connecting it to your grill. Your total project price will depend on the length of the gas line, whether or not the line needs to be installed underground, and the cost of the permits in your area.

Yes, most states require a plumber to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations. Check our state licensing tool to review the local plumber guidelines.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification, which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

The difference between a built-in and regular grill is installation and design. A built-in grill is integrated into an outdoor kitchen or structure, often within a countertop or island. It is a permanent fixture. A regular grill is standalone, portable, or cart-mounted, allowing mobility and versatility in placement. Built-in grills are typically larger with more cooking space, while regular grills come in various sizes. Built-in grills are favored for creating a custom outdoor cooking area, while regular grills provide convenience and flexibility.

Yes, professional services typically include venting, gas line installation, and necessary permits.
