"In renovating our beach cottage in Warwick, RI we found the roof needed structural work. Building inspector required a structural engineered plan. Adam was easy to communicate with. He was timely with his plan and follow up inspection. He was also available by text and phone for questions during the project. He was great to work with!"

Customers say: Quick response

"I’ve been working with Steve Medeiros of SPM Design on a complete remodel of my home, and I highly recommend him. From the start, Steve produced excellent designs that really captured what I was hoping to achieve with the renovation. His ideas were thoughtful, practical, and improved the overall vision for the house. What really stands out is how easy Steve is to work with. As the project evolved and some plans changed—as they often do in a major renovation—he was always flexible, responsive, and willing to adapt the design to make things work better. He consistently came back with smart solutions and improvements. Steve is professional, creative, and collaborative throughout the entire process. If you’re looking for an architect who delivers great design and is genuinely enjoyable to work with, I strongly recommend Steve Medeiros and SPM Design. I’m very glad I found him."

"This young man has great ideas and helps you design a dream room. He was one of few that got back to me in a timely manner . Which is very impressive because most companies take their time . He is fast and efficient in doing his plans . His price for the finished product was very reasonable unlike other companies. I would definitely recommend M. Kinne Architectural Drawings, LLC"

"I am having a full master bath and kitchen remodel done with new layouts in both rooms and knocking out a wall. Evolution worked with me to quickly get a drawing done of the new layouts so that the contractor could get started on the project. They made sure to include me in the process so that the design would be done exactly as my wife and I envisioned. They communicated effectively throughout the process and were always courteous and professional. I recommend them to anyone with drafting needs."

I’m a Massachusetts CSL-licensed contractor with hands-on experience in home renovations, repairs, and property improvements. I’ve worked on everything from smaller repair projects to complete kitchen and bathroom renovations, and I take pride in doing quality work without cutting corners.\n\nMy experience includes kitchen and bathroom remodeling, decks and framing repairs, drywall and painting, flooring, finish carpentry, closet systems, and general home improvements.\n\nI understand that finding someone reliable for a home project can be frustrating. My goal is simple: communicate clearly, show up when I say I will, provide straightforward pricing, and treat your home as if it were my own.\n\nI’m happy to take on both small projects and larger renovations, and I work with homeowners, landlords, investors, and property managers throughout the South Shore and Greater Boston area.\n\nIf you have a project in mind, feel free to reach out. I’d be happy to discuss what you’re looking to accomplish

Structural Engineering questions, answered by experts

Completing structural engineering projects in Providence can significantly enhance your home’s value and resale appeal, especially if you address foundation repair or open up living spaces. Upgrades that improve energy efficiency or reinforce historic features often attract buyers and help avoid inspection setbacks. In some cases, these improvements may also make your property eligible for local preservation incentives, making it more competitive in the market.

Helpful?

In Providence, you’ll find structural engineers for design and analysis, foundation repair specialists for moisture or settling issues, and framing contractors for timber or steel work. Masonry experts handle historic brick or stone repairs, while some contractors focus on seismic upgrades or historic preservation. General contractors with structural experience can oversee large-scale renovations, ensuring all aspects of the project meet local building requirements.

Helpful?

Before starting structural engineering work in Providence, review your home’s existing plans, gather any previous permits, and check if your property falls within a historic district. Document visible issues like cracks or settling. Work with contractors experienced in local codes and historic preservation. Plan for possible weather-related delays, coordinate with neighbors for access, and budget for unexpected discoveries during foundation or framing repairs.

Helpful?

In Providence, structural engineering projects typically range from a few weeks for simple assessments or minor repairs to several months for major renovations or additions. The design and permitting phases often take longer for historic homes or during the winter, when weather can delay foundation work. Contractor availability and project complexity also play a significant role in the overall timeline.

Helpful?

In Providence, homes with visible foundation cracks, uneven floors, or doors that stick—especially those built before the 1940s—often benefit from structural engineering projects. If you’re planning a major remodel or live in a historic district, a professional assessment is essential. Proximity to the bay can also mean higher moisture levels, which may contribute to unique foundation repair needs.
