Since the home’s basement primarily consisted of a giant crawl space, I was told Don would do the job. Ultimately, the day before the scheduled inspection, I couldn’t get ahold of Don. Bob said Don was “feeling sick,” so the job was off. Frustrating, but a blessing in disguise because we ended up going with Colonial Restorations (the home was built in the 1800s). "When working around the house I noticed that my main circuit breaker panel was suffering some severe corrosion which turned out to be due to a leak coming down the main power cable. NE Renovations had gotten good reviews so I asked them and others for a quote. The NE Renovations team (I believe sub-contractors) seemed to know the most about what they were doing and also helped me take temporary measures to stop the leak. When they came back to perform the job they were very quick, clean and professional. This included replacing the interior and exterior wall penetration, meter box, main feed cable and some pieces on the circuit breaker panel. They also dealt with the town for permits and the electric company for pulling the box. Overall they did exactly what they said for the price that they quoted and I was very pleased with their service. I also used two of the Angie's List "BigDeal" coupons, which they handled without any problems. I would definitely recommend them to others.

They assigned different contractors to do the construction work. One of the contractors said that the job was too big and that they could not do it, which was fine. I respect that. The secretary stated that she would try to find other contractors to do the job. The owner came and walked through the house and we spoke about what needed to be done in the house. I did not feel confident in his contractor because he seemed that he did not know what he was doing. I wanted him to do one specific thing. The owner wanted to take down the whole wall. I just wanted to reopen a small section. I started to feel like they were pushing me. For those reasons I felt uncomfortable and did not go with them. The quote was detailed.
