"A+ service! I had a driveway in bad shape! They can and removed the broken parts, filled and asphalt over rest of existing asphalt. It looks like a brand new driveway. Could not be happier!! They went above and beyond my expectations!! Highly recommend!"

Customers say: Super punctual

"Kevin was doing a job at a family members house when I met him, I asked about having a driveway done. Once I contacted him, he came by, within hours he gave me a quote and started the job that following week. The job took about a week and a half. He explained what he was doing each step of the way. He and his workers did an excellent job. I would highly recommend him."

"We used Nature Redesigned after completing a year and a half renovation on a home, which left us with a beautiful house sitting in the middle of a mudflat. Nature Redesigned came in and installed garden beds, a crushed stone driveway, bluestone paths, and a lawn. Our project is ninety five percent complete at this stage, and we are very satisfied with the results! The owner Joe Shaw, is easy to work with, responsive and his crew showed up on time every morning and worked hard all day until the project was complete. We are sure to have additional landscaping projects over the years, and will most certainly use Nature Redesigned to help us in completing them."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

For a typical Providence home, asphalt paving work primarily solves issues caused by harsh winters, including cracking and heaving from constant freeze-thaw cycles. It also addresses safety hazards like potholes and fixes drainage problems that cause standing water or ice. A properly paved driveway improves curb appeal and better withstands damage from road salt and the stress of heavy snow removal equipment.

Helpful?

Coordinating asphalt paving in Providence with other home upgrades—such as drainage improvements, underground utility installations, or landscaping—can streamline your project and reduce overall disruption. Bundling services like driveway resurfacing and landscape edging often leads to a more cohesive look and helps avoid repeated site disturbance. Many local contractors can handle multiple upgrades, making it easier to achieve long-lasting, efficient results for your property.

Helpful?

The climate in Providence, RI, significantly impacts asphalt paving projects. The area's 80-100 annual freeze-thaw cycles cause damaging expansion and contraction, while coastal salt air accelerates deterioration. The optimal paving season is limited to May through October when temperatures are consistently above 50°F. This narrow window requires careful planning to ensure a quality installation that can withstand harsh New England winters.

Helpful?

For asphalt paving in Providence, opt for hot mix asphalt with a binder suitable for local weather, such as PG 64-22, to handle temperature swings. Use a dense-graded mix over a crushed stone base at least 6 inches thick to ensure stability. If your property has clay or poorly draining soil, adding geotextile fabric can help. Sourcing local aggregates supports compatibility and driveway longevity.

Helpful?

Before beginning asphalt paving in Providence, confirm your property boundaries and review local setback requirements to avoid future disputes. Arrange for soil testing if your area has heavy clay or drainage issues. Get written estimates from several reputable contractors, check their insurance, and plan your project for late spring through early fall for best results. Notify neighbors and arrange alternative parking to minimize inconvenience during installation.
