"A+ service! I had a driveway in bad shape! They can and removed the broken parts, filled and asphalt over rest of existing asphalt. It looks like a brand new driveway. Could not be happier!! They went above and beyond my expectations!! Highly recommend!"

Customers say: Super punctual

"Kevin was doing a job at a family members house when I met him, I asked about having a driveway done. Once I contacted him, he came by, within hours he gave me a quote and started the job that following week. The job took about a week and a half. He explained what he was doing each step of the way. He and his workers did an excellent job. I would highly recommend him."

"They did an arch and they had to repeat it because they didn't cement it and the wind blew it off. They cemented it after the wind blew it off, since They didn't measure the arch properly. It was a little bit lopsided. They did crush stone and mulch around two trees in the driveway and the front of the house and those were fine. They also did some pavers from the porch to the arch which was also fine. The lawn was poorly done, because there were some patches that had to be filled in. They said it would improve but it didn't improve. When I had to call him, I was getting no response. Finally he sent his crew but he didn't come back himself and they did a very poor job. After I complained about this to him, He just told me that it was an inconvenience for him to come back. There was a problem of the watering system that he had put in. It was suppose to water for 10mins for twice a day but what I got was it only waters once a day for my 4 different sections of my lawn."

"This company provided insight into the preparation, planning, and execution of our parking lot. They went above and beyond in maximizing the look, the longevity, and the usable parking. Comments from our church family have been glowing to say the least. We will use them again when the time comes."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

The climate in Providence, RI, significantly impacts asphalt paving projects. The area's 80-100 annual freeze-thaw cycles cause damaging expansion and contraction, while coastal salt air accelerates deterioration. The optimal paving season is limited to May through October when temperatures are consistently above 50°F. This narrow window requires careful planning to ensure a quality installation that can withstand harsh New England winters.

Helpful?

For a typical Providence home, asphalt paving work primarily solves issues caused by harsh winters, including cracking and heaving from constant freeze-thaw cycles. It also addresses safety hazards like potholes and fixes drainage problems that cause standing water or ice. A properly paved driveway improves curb appeal and better withstands damage from road salt and the stress of heavy snow removal equipment.

Helpful?

In Providence, cosmetic asphalt paving projects focus on appearance, using sealcoating to restore a dark black finish or filling minor cracks to boost curb appeal. Functional work addresses structural integrity, involving full depth reclamation to fix damage from freeze-thaw cycles, base repair for clay soil issues, and drainage improvements to manage water from coastal storms. Functional repairs are essential for long-term durability against local weather.

Helpful?

Before beginning an asphalt paving project in Providence, contact the city’s Building Department for permit requirements and call 811 at least 72 hours in advance to have utilities marked. A professional drainage assessment is critical due to local topography. You should also schedule work during the prime May-October season and ensure your contractor understands Rhode Island's unique soil conditions and climate challenges.

Helpful?

For asphalt paving in Providence, opt for hot mix asphalt with a binder suitable for local weather, such as PG 64-22, to handle temperature swings. Use a dense-graded mix over a crushed stone base at least 6 inches thick to ensure stability. If your property has clay or poorly draining soil, adding geotextile fabric can help. Sourcing local aggregates supports compatibility and driveway longevity.
