Since the pilot light has stopped going out numerous times a day I want to give it more time to see if the problem has subsided. The James Martel plumbing company, who installed the gas water heater on 09/28/2017, said we had to have our chimney cleaned and a liner installed to see if problem goes away. Otherwise he would have to replace the Pilot light thermal cup assembly, which is estimated around $500."

"95% well- driver/technician = excellent -professioal-polite ;eventhough we were last appt of day and he ran into a problem hat cost him time - he did not rush the job or take any shortcuts to my knowledge. clean the very end part of cleaning the dryer vent ran into a problem and could not be worked out as he reached a blockage and he queried me as to how much further he should go and I stopped him. It was dark and he could not see on the roof the kind of vent it was. As it turned out when we could get onto the roof to see -the vent was angkled and if he had gone farther thinking it was a birds nest ,etc., it probably would have meant damage to the inside of vent and the problem wold not have been resolved anyway. As it turned out someone had to go on the roof and physically remove the vent deris to clear it."

"Another company had installed a flu liner, but it was too narrow to accommodate a wood fire. That company had recommended a flu vent fan, but I sought a second opinion. Derek did a thorough assessment of our fireplace/chimney situation, and advised a gas fire log set as the least costly and safest option. I was dubious at first about the aesthetics of a gas log, but the RealFyre set looks great and really adds a nice ambiance to the living room. Horizon repaired the fireplace masonry as well, and they recommend an excellent plumber (M.A. Coughlin, Natick) to install the gas line. Everyone involved was prompt, courteous, transparent re the cost/work involved, respectful of our living space, and skilled. Not an inexpensive job, but all in all excellent quality."
