I'm Tom Finegan, and I own and operate Tom's Plumbing. I've been in business since 2010, and have been in the industry for more than 20 years. I offer service agreements for both plumbing and heating. Tom's Plumbing is licensed and insured, serving all of Rhode Island's plumbing and heating needs. For the week following the New Year, I attempted through e-mail and phone messages to contact the company with no success. Additionally, I called the Moen Company, the manufacturer of the valve, who informed me that only 1/2 inch
copper tubing or IPS pipe may be used between the valve and the tub spout. Tom's Plumbing had used a section of pex tubing. Checking Moen's installation manual, this information was confirmed on page E6 - "Use 1/2"copper or IPS Pipe only."
On January 4, 2016, I sent an e-mail with this information to Tom's Plumbing who chose not to respond. On January 10, I sent another e-mail with the same information, adding that if I did not hear from them, I would be filing a complaint with the BBB of RI. Tom's
Plumbing responded on January 11, stating that a service call would be scheduled the week of January 18-22. On January 17, having no communication from the company, I sent an e-mail requesting date and time for my appointment. On Wednesday, January 20, the company responded that Friday might be a good day and that they would inform me of the time. I replied that I would arrange my
schedule accordingly. No appointment or additional communication has taken place as of the filing of this complaint.
