Customers say: Quick response

"It went very well. Jon arrived on time and spent a good bit of time looking all around the basement and attic, even performing a home leak test which revealed that our chimney's damper doesn't perform as it should (already called for service) and that the insulation in our attic is up to code. He made useful suggestions about potential upgrades to our HVAC and water heater, as well as our thermostat. He installed energy efficient light bulbs in the few lamps where we didn't already have them. All told: a very useful expenditure of time and limited funds (the state of DE covering 3/4s of the cost!"

"I RECENTLY HAD MY ATTIC INSULATION REPLACED BY MASTER ATTIC. ALEX CAME OUT RIGHT ON SCHEDULE AND GAVE ME A FAIR PRICE. ( I DID HAVE 4 OTHER ESTIMATES) THE CREW LEAD BY ROBERTO WAS AMAZING. THEY WERE VERY CONSIDERATE, CAREFUL IN MAKING SURE THE AREA WAS SEALED OFF AND WERE VERY CAREFUL OF MY PERSONAL BELONGINGS. THEY DID A GREAT JOB IN REMOVING OLD INSULATION , VACUUMING OUT THE ATTIC ,SPRAYED AREA AND SEALED ANY OPENINGS. BEFORE THEY BROUGHT IN NEW INSULATION, THEY ASKED ME IF I WISHED TO TO VIEW THE ATTIC AND I DID. I WAS AMAZED EVEN AT THIS POINT, HOW CLEANED EVERYTHING LOOKED . (THIS INSULATION HAD BEEN UP THERE FOR 70 YEARS) NEW INSULATION WAS INSTALLED AND IT LOOKS GREAT. THE CREWED CLEANED UP EVERYTHING , EVEN VACUUMED THE AREA IN THE ROOM. ALL BAGS OF OLD INSULATION WERE REMOVED PROMPTLY AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE."

"We are extremely satisfied with the whole process of our house being insulated. First we had the walls done, and then a couple weeks later we had our attic insulated. The crew were so nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. We are very satisfied with everything. Thank you, everyone."

"

When I first found out we had bedbugs I was beside myself. After calling multiple companies, I finally reached Glenn from Newtown Pest Control. He was the most reasonable that I had found for pricing for heat treatment! He answered all of my questions and was prompt with sending me an email detailing steps that would need to be taken the day of the treatment. I was also able to reach him (without difficulty) before the scheduled treatment to answer some of my many questions/concerns! The day of the treatment they arrived on time and again were very comforting answering all my questions. It is a horrible feeling to have bedbugs and they were all very reassuring and made it a very easy process. It has been about 3 weeks since the treatment and no signs of any bedbugs since the treatment! I would gladly recommend and/or return to Newtown Pest Control for anything further I may need in that area! Thanks again Glenn (and all your workers as well)!!

Drywall Insulation FAQs, answered by experts

Brick and stucco are a lot more different. You must use picture hanging clips designed for brick walls, or use a plaster rail system with adjustable hooks. Any other type of hanging hardware will cause damage to the bricks behind. You won’t be able to really use nails, either, because they’re not strong enough to go into the bricks.

When used correctly, drywall patch kits can work well. However, there are limitations. Specifically, these kits can only cover holes up to 5 inches in diameter. For anything larger than that, you’ll need to cut out the affected section of drywall and replace it with a new piece. That’s a far more complicated process that involves buying the right type of drywall, finding the wall studs, cutting into your wall, and screwing the replacement drywall in place.

To properly clean and maintain your skip trowel drywall texture, dust the surface weekly with an electrostatic duster or vacuum with a soft brush attachment. Never scrub the surface. You can remove stains by gently applying a mild detergent solution with a paint roller, removing it with a damp roller, and drying with a dry roller. To cut down on cleaning frequency, avoid indoor smoking and limit the use of fireplaces.

When doing a DIY paint job, it can be tricky to achieve the perfect, straight line between your wall and ceiling. There are several methods, including lining it with painter’s tape and using the “cut in” brush tactic. Some homeowners choose to apply a thin line of caulk to the wall-ceiling seam to create the appearance of a perfect line.

Costs depend on damage extent of damage, labor, finishing, and whether mold remediation is needed.
