He figured out an ingenious way to hoist the heavy door to the second floor, and very skillfully and quickly adjusted the frame to fit the door, and affixed the heavy-duty hinges. And for the first-floor door, he figured out a way to repair the existing frame (rather than replace it), thereby saving me hundreds of dollars. All the work was done to a very high standard by a skilled professional who worked quickly and efficiently. And the price-tag for all this was remarkably low -- only a third the price I'd been quoted by another local handyman firm. Some stubborn parts on our old tub and shower were tricky, but he persevered and made everything work wonderfully well. He hung a large framed painting that had been leaning against the fireplace for ages (this required a pro to hang correctly) and it looks outstanding. It’s centered just right and is secure. Lastly, he installed a new faucet in another bathroom and that looks gorgeous also. Dave does it all and I will definitely hire him again for other home improvements and repairs. "I hired D Design Woodworking to build a floor mirror utilizing an antique mirror from an English armoire. We discussed the design, the type of wood (maple) to be used and the stain color. I received the mirror yesterday and I couldnâ t be happier. The mirror looks great in the frame and Iâ m extremely impressed with the workmanship. The mirror is very substantial and the stain matches our new bedroom furniture perfectly. I cannot recommend D Design more highly."

"The install went great for both jobs - no issues with them.  The closet insert was a no brainier.  Converting the linen closet to a drawer / door storage unit didn't go as well.  My opinion is the sales person / estimator needed more experience.  We removed the door and frame and measured from the rough studs which was not plum but took the smallest measurement. After reviewing the drawing provided by the sales person some adjustments were made.  Bottom line was we should have measured the inside of the door frame and made a minor adjustment to account for a wider trim. on one side.  Live and learn. I'd recommend getting several estimates and use this company as such.  My wife pushed this to be completed and the sales person had a buy now price.  enough said.
