Marett Carpet One is family run and operated since it first opened in 1949, by Tom Marett. Today, his son Craig Marett is proud to carry on his legacy of providing great service and great flooring. Marett Carpet joined Carpet One in 1988, which has made us part of the largest buying group in the country. This upper hand helps us provide customers with various and unique options to suit their flooring, cabinet and counter top needs. We are a co-op, and therefore we represent the best of both worlds. By shopping with Marett Carpet One, customers are supporting their local business, but still have access to products they may find at a big box store. Additionally, all of our sales team and installation crews are trained professionals with years of experience. We even have an interior designer on staff! Our installation crews are in-house employees, and most have been with Marett Carpet One for decades.

"We ended up going to another place first, We were going to go with them, ONLY because I didn't know about Marrett....I called my mom who told me to go check this company out. We went and were met by Marian. She was SO patient and educated on what would work for us. She showed us the flooring we ended up going with, BUT, I was being stubborn from Pinteresting too much...Enter my mom, she came with me the second time and pointed out the same flooring Marian showed us....and started the motherly "You won't regret this flooring" And Marian gave me the information on the flooring and I started to fall in love more and more. She let me take it home to see it on our flooring and we love it SO much, once our remodel is done, we will be doing our bedrooms in the same flooring. Yes, it IS a bit more expensive, BUT, I have bought from Lowes and Home Depot my whole life and I've always had issues and ended up spending the same amount with repairs and ripping flooring out to redo it. The extra few bucks on this company (it also depends on your choice, we went higher end) is WORTH IT!!! We are going to be doing our kitchen and we are going there for our counter tops and we are also getting carpet from them in our living room, THAT is how satisfied my husband and I are with this company. DO NOT waste time at Home Depot, Lowes, Menards, etc .Go to a reputable company, Marrett won't disappoint you."

Cabinet Making questions, answered by experts

You can install a range hood and use the vent to protect your kitchen cabinets from heat and steam from the stovetop. For added heat protection, homeowners can install metal heat shields to exposed sections of the cabinets. It is also essential to keep cabinet surfaces clean by removing any grease buildup that can cause a fire.

You can replace drawers in existing cabinets by repurchasing the same model, if only replacing broken drawers, or replace them altogether to give your kitchen a whole new look. Be sure to measure the exact dimensions of each drawer to ensure the new set will fit correctly. You should also replace existing drawers with new ones with the same type of drawer slides for easy installation.

If you are building a laminate countertop from scratch, instead of buying premade laminate countertops, you can use particle board underneath the laminate. You will need to use a sheet of particle board for the substrate, along with four-inch strips underneath the edges. For proper installation, make sure that any seams are level and use a sander as necessary before installing the laminate.

You can use either handles or knobs on upper cabinets—go with what you like best. Pulls can sometimes make hard-to-reach upper cabinets easier to open, which is why it’s common to see kitchens that have handles on upper cabinets and knobs on drawers and base cabinets. But it’s also common to use knobs on doors and pulls on drawers. Let your aesthetics, budget, and practical considerations about how you use your cabinets dictate your decision.

Make sure your shelves are no more than 12 inches deep. Any deeper and it will become hard to access items towards the back of the shelf. Yet, for larger walk-in pantries, homeowners may prefer 15- to 18-inch shelving to make room for larger appliances and cookware.
