We were the first to: Conduct mold remediation while simultaneously waterproofing. Offer lifetime warranties for our waterproofing services for the life of the structure. Offer lifetime warranties for the sump pumps. (We know they will not last a lifetime; it is a free replacement for our customers and our appreciation of their business). Clean out basement crawlspaces and garages while waterproofing.

"The job inside was done. However the drainage put in outside has turned our yard into a swimming pool. We once had a pipe draining to the creek and this was a perfect solution to the rains/weather. These guys came in and put a round small cylinder well. Water pumps up into our yard turning it into a swamp. Called them to come and see the problem they created. Their response $2900 to fix THEIR DAMAGE. I WOULD NEVER RECCOMEND THIS COMPANY!!"

"I contacted the online company Angi to find a technician to service an oil furnace that was not working in a second a home I own. This property is not commercial or being rented. Angi gave our contact info to Village Heating and Cooling LLC. Village came out on Friday 10/25/24. I was contacted by village they would be there at 11:00 They were about 6.5 hours late. After inspection of furnace he said it was non serviceable. He recommended installing a new ductless system. Said if he installs new system we will not be charged for service call. Over next two months we conversed mainly thru text messages about numerous set ups to meet our climate needs. It took a while as this system can be up up 4 times more costly. I told him I wanted old tanks removed along with boiler. Mike agreed. We agreed to leave the piping for radiators in place. Mike also said he would clean up wiring in basement and first floor. That was to include updating any knob and tube wiring in basement and for all electrical receptacles on first floor. Also move already in place air conditioning system in master bedroom. We agreed via text messages of a 75 percent down payment on 12/17/24. Within 3 hours Village sent a worker to my primary residence to pick up a personal check for 15,000 dollars for down payment. I was still at work and was never able to sign an updated version of any type of contract. They said work would start on 12/19/ thru 12/21/24. Check was cashed the next morning 12/18/24. No work was done those days. We only have an invoice saying we gave a deposit of 15,000. A formal contract was Never presented, discussed nor signed by any party involved. We agreed to resume work after holidays. He suggest 01/13 thru 01/16. No work done 01/13 or 01/14 Village says they can come out Friday and Saturday. 2 hours work done on 01/15. Village dropped of some materials, carried them up stairs and left. On 01/16, worker shows up for 2 hours. No work done because tools did not work. No one comes out on 01/17 and 01/18. Village said they can come out the week of 1/20 thru 01/23. Weather forecast has 0 degree temps. I suggest the following week with temps in 40s. Village says thank you and schedules for 01/28 thru 01/31. First day Village was there for 1 hour to fix a pipe that broke because it froze. Second day no work. Village showed up at 12:45 on third day for 2 hours. No one comes out on fourth day. They suggest Saturday along with Monday and Tuesday, All 3 days no work is done. During 16 days Village said they would come out to work, they only showed up 4 times. Less than 7 hours total was worked. Two of those hours nothing was completed because tools (pump) did not work. One hour on 01/28 was to fix a pipe that froze because of no heat. Currently, Village is demanding balance to be paid in full before they will continue work. I contacted Angi's List's resolution department on 03/03/25. Complained about lack of work being completed and about our 75 percent down payment agreement not being honored. A formal complaint was filed. Village agreed to the 75 percent. Village tried to trick Angi's resolution department by saying 75 percent of remaining balance. That is equal to 97 percent of the total invoice. I made Angi's resolution department aware of this. This entire complaint can be verified with text messages and emails between Village Heating and Cooling LLC, Angi and myself."

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

A small sump pump running infrequently uses an average of 10 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity per month. The average cost for electricity is $0.171 per kWh. The size and use frequency affect how much electricity it uses. Sump pumps average one-third to one horsepower (hp) motors. One hp is equal to 745.7 watts. Watts multiplied by the time your pump is running divided by 1,000 equals your average kWh. Multiply kWh by your average cost of electricity. In areas with high rain or a marsh basin, the average cost can be as high as $15-$25 a month.

An ejector pump will last about 7 to 10 years on average—as long as you keep up with maintenance. Properly maintained, it’s not unheard of to get decades of use out of an ejector pump. On a similar note, it’s important to repair or replace the pump right away if you note any damage. Put it off, and you could experience the horror of a sewer line backup.

To test for toilet leaks, use water coloring in the water tank and see if the water slips into the bowl from the tank. This test will indicate if there’s a problem with the flapper or refill tube. You can also put water coloring in the bowl of the toilet to see if there is a leak there. If there is, you should see the colored water on the outside of the toilet bowl or on the floor.

If your water pump fails, the first step is to turn off the power to the pump to prevent any further damage. Check for common issues such as clogs, electrical problems, or mechanical failures. If you cannot identify the problem, contact a professional who specializes in pump repairs. Prompt action can help minimize damage and repair costs.

The difference between an ejector pump and a sump pump lies in their purpose and design—an ejector pump functions to remove liquid gray water and soft solid sewage waste from your home. If you have a laundry room or bathroom in your basement, an ejector pump for your sewage tank prevents sewage from backing up in your washing machine or bathroom’s drains.

A sump pump is designed to remove excess groundwater that may enter your home, either due to flooding or periods of heavy rain.
