"Adam was great! Our old fence was beginning to splinter and fall, which isn't safe when you have 2 dogs. After contacting Adam for a quote, he came right out and made a plan to replace our fence, a gate that was shoddily done by another contractor, and add 2 additional gates. On the 2 days of work, his team was friendly and professional. Having a new, safe fence brings us ease of mind when we let the dogs out and we would 100% work with Adam again."
"Needed assistance with removal of an unstable 50 foot wood fence. Adian reached out to me literally within minutes of my request and I had an estimate within an hour (on a Sunday). The cost was very reasonable. Adian kept me updated on his arrival time and the project was completed with no issues. He was very professional and I will be obtaining a quote from him to replace the fence."
"Zach came and gave us an estimate for a roof replacement and converting our box gutters. He was one of the only roofers that were willing to walk the roof, and then offered candid feedback and suggestions and provided a quote a few days after seeing the project. Ultimately, we decided to go with a different option and scaled back the scope of the job, but I wouldn't hesitate to give them a call in the future for any roofing projects."
"Bradley and his team are very professional. They showed up when they said they would and did the job efficiently. His estimate was slightly lower than the others that I got and he did the job sooner than the others were willing to schedule. The deck is beautiful and better than I expected. I never had to deal with deliveries or inspectors, they took care of everything. Because of the quality, I am now having them replace an old fence as well. I would recommend them to anybody wanting quality work!"
"I got in touch with Phillip, and he came very quickly to estimate the job. He was able to do the job within a week, and it took less than 2 days. The job involved removing an old split-rail fence (12 posts), carting away the debris, and then replacing it with a fence of 8 posts. The work is excellent, and the workers very courteous. I would use this company again without hesitation."
"Cole and his team were amazing. They were professional, on-time, on-budget, cleanly, and most of all communicative. All throughout the project, he would text me with updates. This established a great line of communication for a successful completion of the project. The fence, porch and dormers look amazing. My comment to him was, my next job, I am calling you."
"This was my third time working with this contractor and each project was a pleasurable experience! As was the case with the other two, they started this project on time and finished on time! All the work was done according to strict Mount Lebanon code. They made suggestions based upon their experience i.e we wanted a six foot high shadow box fence but while Mount Lebanon code allows for a six foot high privacy fence of just about any style, they do not allow, by code, a six foot high shadowbox fence. Steve Hilpert proceeded to build us a 4 foot high shadowbox fence (the maximum height allowed by code) with a custom built 2 foot high trellis section which Mount Lebanon subsequently approved. The fence looks beautiful! I was nervous about cutting a big hole in the wall of our addition to install the sliding glass door. Now the door looks like it has been there all along! It came out PERFECTLY! The deck is also beautiful and solid as a rock! We had an issue with the location of our two central air conditioning units off the back of the house. The other contractors (which I found here on Angie's List as well) said they would just build over these units. Not knowing anything about central air conditioning this seemed reasonable to me. Steve was the ONLY contractor who told me that you absolutely CAN NOT block the air flow above the units! Not only that, he was honest enough to tell me that moving the units should be done by a qualified HVAC contractor. Now that is a contractor you can trust! All work was completed on time and within budget. The same crew arrived early each day and were polite and professional. The job site was spotless at the end of each day! If you are looking for a trustworthy, professional contractor, you can not go wrong with SC Hilpert!!!"
"This is the second time I used Richard's services and his expertise is beyond reproach. He's not overpriced and he can design any style rail you want with expert advice. I would use him again and I highly recommend him"
Wire fences are generally the most inexpensive type of farm fence to install, especially compared to lumber. Barbed wire is one of the cheapest options due to its simple materials, making it a good choice for low budgets and for confining docile animals in large spaces. Other options include hog wire and woven wire fences, which are strong, long-lasting, and relatively easy to repair. While wire fences require less lumber and reduce overall project costs, they are often considered less aesthetically pleasing than traditional wood fences.
The most affordable metal fence type is wire at just $3 to $5 per linear foot. Wire fences come in a variety of styles and do a good job of marking perimeters and keeping animals in or out of certain areas. While they’re very easy to install and repair, many homeowners find them unattractive, and many homeowners associations won’t allow them.
When deciding between fence post foam and concrete, the best choice depends on your specific needs and priorities. Concrete is generally considered stronger and more durable, making it the preferred option for heavy, load-bearing posts. However, expanding foam offers several advantages, such as being more eco-friendly and curing much faster. For smaller fences or those made with lighter materials like vinyl or wire mesh, post foam is a good alternative. While concrete is more affordable, it is also harder to work with and has a longer curing time.
Moisture and rot are the largest threat to wooden fences. Stain can help your wood fence last 15 to 20 years, but only if you choose a stain with waterproofing qualities or add a sealant. Oil-based stains create a thicker moisture barrier than water-based stains, though both are mold and mildew resistant. You’ll generally need to re-stain your fence every one to eight years to get full protection.
To choose where to add a fence gate, know where fence gates shouldn’t go. For example, you should avoid placing gates over low spots on the ground where water can collect and form muddy puddles. Many ranchers install gates at the corner of a fence. Certain gate placements may also be required depending on the type of gate latch you use.
