"Frank's crew did an absolutely fantastic job. Upper St. Clair has very strict rules regarding fences, and it took months to get the correct materials and spacing approved. Frank was helpful, professional, and really knowledgeable about the entire process. With COVID 19 it also tool a lot longer to get the materials delivered; when they finally arrived, his crew showed up on schedule, and worked tirelessly until the job was done. They asked me throughout the job if I liked it, if I wanted anything changed, etc. I couldn't be more satisfied with the end result and I would hire them again in a heartbeat!!!!"

"Ingelido Fence was absolutely AMAZING to work with!! Gary and his team installed a beautiful, safe play area for my dogs and we could not be happier with the quality and professionalism. From the time we requested the quote, communication was quick, attentive and sincere. Ingelido worked to find creative solutions to fit our budget, too!"

"Ryan went above and beyond are expectations. He gave us a backyard again. Ryan takes his work seriously and is a perfectionist, also fair with his price. I would highly recommend him and plan on using him again on future projects."

"Over the weekend, I had the brilliant idea of attempting to install a new front door on my own without proper experience. After several hours of my own labor and a botched job and soar back to show for it, I sent Do It Right Construction an e-mail on Monday morning around 7:30am. Within an hour, I had a phone call from Chris discussing the project. I asked him to rebuild the deteriorated door frame and build a custom door jam. He asked all the right questions and gave me a more than reasonable quote to repair my work. . The very next morning, Chris and his excellent and professional team arrived at my home at their scheduled time and had the work completed with perfection within a few hours. The best part, he added alot of extra work and materials that were not quoted WITHOUT adjusting his quote. I am currently in discussions with Chris to hire him for a few other projects. On a side note: I sent 7 e-mails to other similar companies I found on here and I have yet to hear from anyone but Chris! If you are looking for a Handyman or have a construction project, stop your search here and send Chris and e-mail! He will call you back and will hold true to his word of "doing it right"!"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

One of the best alternatives to a snow fence is to plant a living snow fence of grasses, shrubs, trees, and crops like corn. Another temporary option is using hay bales to create a barrier to disrupt the wind flow, and cause snow to accumulate in specific areas. However, hay bales are not a permanent option, so keep that in mind when choosing what type of snow fence you should install.

In most cases, a fence can only be built on your property with your consent. Not obtaining permission constitutes an encroachment and a violation of your property rights. However, exceptions may apply, such as when the fence is entirely within the property boundaries of the person putting it up and the fence complies with local zoning laws and regulations. If you think a fence infringes on your property or is not up to local standards, consult with local authorities or legal experts to address the issue and protect your property rights.

The maximum recommended slope on which you can build a racked or stepped fence is 45 degrees. After that, construction becomes quite tricky and may require the use of retaining walls or terraces to make the fenced area flatter.

Standard post spacing for shadowbox fences is 6 to 8 feet. This spacing ensures proper support for the heavy weight of overlapping pickets and prevents sagging between posts. However, areas with high winds, slopes, or unstable soil conditions may require closer spacing.

Yes, you can use a floor jack to remove fence posts. Attach a stem to the base of the fence post so you can position the floor jack underneath. The stem can be a scrap piece of wood attached with nails or a sturdy nail itself. Put the jack beneath the stem and push the lever to lift up on the fence post and remove it from the ground.
