"Excellent all around experience!!!!!!!! After a series of storms and gradual water soaking our basement carpet several times, I finally called Waterproofing One in April, 2017 after seeing their ad several times on our St. Basil's church bulletin. I spoke initially with the owner-Joe who was helpful and he dispatched Dave Cook who came over within an hour. Dave Cook has been in this business and related utility engineering previously for over 30 years and really knows his stuff. Dave was extremely thorough, spending time in the basement, looking at some pictures I took of the damage and spent a considerable amount of time walking around the exterior of my property and reviewing the landscaping where most problems start. Dave wrote up a report of what work was needed including extending downspouts, recommending we have our contractor add a louvered door at the top of the steps for aeration (a great idea given no windows in basement) , waterproofing the well water closet walls, spraying impacted area for potential mold, and installing a new French drain and sump-pump system with battery backup. Gene and his crew then came over on May 17, 2018 and performed the construction and installation work and did a great job. Those guys worked extremely hard in what is inherently a muddy line of work and were very courteous, professional and left the basement very clean. Gene took extra time to show us exactly what they were doing as they drilled holes into the lower cinder block walls, laying of the perforated pipe and some of the damp mold on the wooded studs he extracted at the impacted area. We paid exactly what Dave originally quoted! Dave Cook came back checked on things and made some other recommendations including adding stones around the foundation outside and in holes to avoid soil erosion and soften the acceleration of rain water into the ground. Once the work was finished and our carpenter redid the walls and painting, We had subsequently refinished the basement with high end vapor/mold resistant padding from Mohawk and a quality polyester carpet. 15 months later and here we are on September 30, 2019 after 50+ rain storms since installation and NO WATER nor Mold issues in the basement!!! We are really enjoying our basement again thanks to WATERPROOFING ONE!!!! 5-STARS!!!!!!!!"

"They performed the work quickly and the guy was nice but the charge was 480 for a clearing a basement accessible drain. Got quotes from other for 150-350~ for clearing the same drain but wouldn’t come out as soon as DE plumbing pros. Seems very overpriced and wouldn’t use again unless I absolutely had to. Their customer service was good and theirs plumbers professional."

"We had a French drain installed in our basement, along with two sump pumps. From what I can tell, the work was performed correctly and to the specifications outlined in the contract. I found Shawn, the owner, to be responsive, helpful, and pleasant to deal with. Overall, the crew that installed the trench and sumps arrived on time, worked efficiently, and completed the job in 3 days, leaving a clean basement behind. For the sake of fair balance, I will detail two issues in the service I received. The first had to do with the condition of my footer when the trench was dug. As they were digging, I noted that in one section of the wall, the footer appeared have been damaged by their jack hammering. Upon calling Shawn about this issue and sending him pictures of the damage, he stated that it was related to how large the footer was and how the footer was poured when the house was built. He also assured me that the footer was in good condition and the part they chipped away was not load bearing and had no impact on the structural integrity of the foundation. This seemed to be a reasonable explanation so I thought nothing of it. The second issue had to do with cracks in the basement floor. Before the work was started, there were one or two visible cracks in the floor. Yet, after their work was complete there were well over a dozen visible cracks. Upon calling Shawn again, he stated that his jackhammers could not have caused that damage and there might have been smaller cracks that got larger when they began working. I do not have photographic proof to dispute this explanation so I can only cite my memory regarding the condition of the basement floor; however, in combination with the first issue it makes me wonder how much care was taken when they dug the trench. Not being structural engineer or having photographic proof, I can not refute the explanations given to me, but my advice to others would be to photographically document the condition of your basement prior to getting work done and carefully watch the work being performed."

"Blue Wolf came out to install a French drain and sump pump after my basement got water after a major storm. Bob came out and was amazing! He took the time to explain each of the steps in the process ensuring that I understood everything he was going to do and what purpose it served. When it came to pricing, he was honest and fair and broke it down into the different components of the job. He answered some questions that I had when I was unsure of how long I wanted the drain to be. He came out to give me the estimate and even arranged to come out the next day to start the job. He finished the same day! After he finished, he took the time to clean up the basement, sweep, and made sure everything was back in place. "When we purchased our home a year and half ago, the crawl space in our home was in pretty bad shape. It was poorly insulated, was retaining higher humidity and full of debris from the previous owner. Due to high demand, Dan's team started about a month later but they were swift and had the job done in only two days. I was extremely impressed with how fast Basement Guru's worked and attacked the project. In the end, we had all debris removed, a French Drain installed, Sum Pump, sprayed our floor joists with an anti-microbial, insulation installed between the floor joists, rebuilt a wall dividing a room, Regrouted, Parged foundation pillars, installed a vapor barrier and roughcasted my stone foundation walls. Additionally, we had a dehumidifier installed. As of February 2022, our crawlspace has been dry and maintaining good humidity levels. In the end, the only negative we had during the project was was a small clean up issue. After addressing this problem with Dan, he was quick to respond and compensated the clean up costs.
