"Paul of Tri-State roofing in Pleasantville PA provided us with outstanding service. We actually got to talk to him the first time we called, he came out the same day and gave us an estimate that was a fair price for a roof replacement. Work started with in a week and was completed in one day. His crew were very hard workers and very efficient. Roof replacement was Owens Corning lifetime roofing system with TruDefinition Duration shingles. They do roof the right way with no short cuts. Water and ice seal, starter shingles completely around the outer perimeter, synthetic felt and roof ridge vents with shingle caps. All new exhaust boxes, and pipe vent seals. Shingles have an excellent choice of color as well. A thorough clean-up was down after the roofing was completed and the old roofing materials were haul away with a dump trailer. If you are looking into getting a new roof look no further than Tri-State Roofing, they are the best hands down."

"New Look Home Exteriors recently finished putting on a new roof for me. I received around 6 quotes from roofing contractors and landed on these guys because of how thorough and professional they were. The communication through the entire process was top notch. The roof looks fantastic as well. If you need a new roof, look no further!"

"MHI exceeded expectations! Had a minor leak during strong winds, which indicated our original roof urgently required replacement. Recommended by a coworker, MHI proved exceptional. Transparent throughout, they provided ample visuals, expertly addressed queries, and detailed the roofing process, our roof's condition, available solutions, and financing options. Communication was seamless, accommodating calls or texts. They completed the roof and gazebo replacement in just one day. For comprehensive service, choose MHI. I wholeheartedly endorse them and am willing to share my positive experience with anyone interested."

"Everything went well, very impressed by how effective and professional the crew was . They were on our roof by 8am and pulling out our driveway at 2:30 . Couldn’t even tell they were here except that we had a brand new roof. Definitely would recommend them"

"While removing the old roof, the aluminum coverings on our mansard roof dormers were damaged. The roofing crew attempted to repair the damage but the result was not satisfactory. As compensation they deducted a small amount from the total bill."

A few disadvantages of installing solar panels on your roof include the high up-front costs and the potential for increased property taxes. Installing solar panels can increase the home’s value, which in turn can mean higher taxes. Depending on your area, you should check with your local tax offices for more information. Another potential pitfall is roof leaks from a poor installation, but this shouldn’t be an issue if you hire a reputable company.

No, a chimney crown is not the same as a chimney cap. A chimney crown is a flat cement area on top of a masonry chimney. It starts where the masonry part of the chimney ends at the very top and domes upward toward the flue opening. A chimney cap sits on top of the crown over the flue. It is usually made of metal and allows smoke to escape without letting in rainwater.

Rolled roofing averages $1.50 to $3 per square foot, with an average installation price of $7,500. This is less expensive than the normal cost for new roofs—traditional styles run between $4.35 and $11 per square foot, averaging $14,400.

The ridge is the horizontal line where two sloping roof sections meet at the top, forming the highest point of the roof. A hip, on the other hand, is the external angle formed where two roof sections meet and slope downward toward the walls, typically at a lower angle than the ridge. The ridge runs horizontally along the peak and the hip runs diagonally from the peak to the roof's edges.

Generally, roof flashing is installed under the shingles to create a watertight seal and prevent moisture from seeping in and causing damage. However, the exact placement can depend on the type of flashing. For instance, with step flashing, the shingles and flashing overlap each other, meaning the flashing is technically both over and under the shingles. Flashing also typically goes beneath the house siding and is often not visible from the ground.
