After working for a well known roofing/siding/gutters company in the Lehigh Valley, where he had extensive training both on the job and classroom. Owner and Operator, Neil LaBuda had just underwent emergency surgery, and his wife's water broke at 25 weeks. He was unfortunately written off by his employer. Neil went on a mission to start his own company, where he would keep his word to the customer, focus on job clean up, 100% customer satisfaction, no smoking on jobsites, a drug and alcohol free work environment, safety not quickness, and asking and delivering to the client what is most important to them about that job. "Very unhappy with the quality of workmanship. The chimney rebuild went well except for a water leak at the flashing. the sidewalk was terrible as if they had never done a sidewalk before. The patio was not graded properly so water now runs back towards the foundation, the steps had gaps where they did not belong , adhesive was spilt in the top of the steps and would not come off."

Chimney Caps questions, answered by experts

Roofing felt is the most common type of roof underlayment, likely because it has been around the longest. It’s called roofing felt because it is often made of felt soaked in asphalt. Depending on the type of roofing a home has, roofing felt comes in different thicknesses.

If properly installed and maintained, roofing felt should last between 10 and 25 years.

Yes, moss can be dangerous for your roof if left in place to grow without treatment. The moss soaks up and holds moisture. Having a constantly damp roof could lead to problems with rot for the parts of the roof that consist of wood. Additionally, a patch of thick moss may draw insects and birds, which could damage the roof. Thick moss could block the roof’s drainage system. Water then may back up after a rainstorm and cause further damage that could eventually lead to roof repair expenses or the cost of roof replacement.

A gambrel roof and a mansard roof are similar in that they are both hipped roofs, meaning they have double slopes—one steep and one more gradual above the steep slope. The difference is that a gambrel roof has a double slope on only two sides of the structure, whereas a mansard roof has a double slope on all four sides.

The length of time you can leave a leaking roof before it causes damage will vary greatly depending on a variety of factors. The best approach when it comes to roof leaks is to play it safe and fix it as soon as possible, whether you take the DIY route or hire a roofing professional to inspect, diagnose, and repair the problem.

The cost to install a drip edge on an existing roof runs about $1 to $3 per linear foot, which comes out to between $150 and $1,000, with an average cost of $575. These are just averages; the total project price can vary depending on the type of drip edge chosen and whether you hire a professional for the installation. Factors like roof size, complexity, and labor rates also play a role in determining the final cost.
