  • Keystone Fence Co

Keystone Fence is a professional and reliable company. Did a beautiful job on our fence that was exactly what we requested. Also did it for $1,000 less than the other estimate I received. I highly recommend this company.

  • TERRAN FENCE CO & DOG GUARD OF ERIE

They had a low, medium, and high price version. The gentleman was on time, a time that was convenient for me in the evening and emailed the quote in a few days which was nice. It was a good experience. Walked around and took measurements.

I didn't like them at all. Their bid was too high and responsiveness was not that great. What comments I read from everyone else, I saw a lot of negative stuff in there so I decided not to entertain a site visit. I backed out of it real quick. They contacted me over the phone after 2 or 3 days.

  • Arlington Fence and Deck Company
    5.0
They were very good. When I decided not to go with them, they even came back and dropped $700 but still they were about $400 or $500 above than what I finally got the fence for. They came out, did the site visit and they were very professional; I can't knock them on that. It is just that their price was more. What I couldn't understand was how can one company give me a product at a very reasonable rate, a high-end cedar and another company gives me the same product a little bit more expensive, almost double the price. It didn't work for me. Although, they were friendly, nice but it all boils down to pricing. I don't know how they dropped like $500 just by saying no to them the following day, you just wonder. It seems like they were intentionally going to gouge me or I can't say that they would. It is just that it didn't work right

  • TERRAN FENCE CO & DOG GUARD OF ERIE

Purchased fencing through Lowe's and Terran Fencing installed it. They did a beautiful job, I'm so pleased and happy with the work performed. The crew, Dennis, Josh and Pat, were so very friendly and had to contend with my 5 year old grand daughter who thought she was the boss. Dennis made her boss #2 and things went smoothly from there on! The guys were just great with her much more patient than Gramma was! I would highly recommend Terran Fencing to anyone, they are great, got the complete job done in two days, cleaned up after themselves and made sure that I was happy with the job. There were two places fencing needed to go that was not an easy location, but they figured out a way to enclose the area and it looks grand. VERY PROFESSIONAL COMPANY....Can't praise then enough! Thank you guys

  • ERIE FENCE INC

It is a beautiful, vinyl, and very expensive fence. They did a beautiful job so I give them a high recommendation. They are an Erie company but their price was better than the major stores and the quality of fence was better. They were very responsive and were here when we called them. I will use them again in the future

Their team was GREAT to work with! They were quick to answer any questions we had from the time of the estimate to completion of the fence. They were professional in their installation and have since followed up to make sure we were happy with the final product. In addition to this, they were cheaper than any of the big-box options for a fence install of this type! We are super happy with this company and the job they did

Fencing FAQ

  1. How much does it cost to install a fence?

Answer: The average cost to install a fence is $2,600. A variety of factors will impact the overall cost of fencing installation, such as the length of the fence, the materials you choose, and local labor costs. Fencing projects using the lowest cost materials and with lower labor costs can cost as little as $1 to $6 per linear foot, while projects using the highest cost materials and with higher labor costs may be as high as $15 to $45.

  2. Do I need a permit to build a fence around a yard?

Answer: Whether you’ll need a permit to build a fence around your yard will depend on your city or county's local codes. Many metropolitan and suburban areas require a permit to install most fencing, but they may not for fences situated behind a house as opposed to in front of it or fences that don’t run within a certain distance of the road. To find out if you’ll need a permit to fence your yard, reach out directly to your local government office.

  3. What is the cheapest fence to install?

Answer: The cheapest fencing to install is chain-link fencing. Chain-link fencing is typically cheaper than other fence types because the materials cost less, and installation is generally quicker and easier than other options. Chain-link fencing is affordable, easy to install, and low maintenance. However, it’s usually considered less secure than other options and doesn’t increase resale value as much as fences made of different materials.

  4. Is a wood or vinyl fence cheaper?

Answer: Wood fences are generally cheaper than the cost of vinyl fences. While the cost of materials for wood and vinyl fences is usually very similar, the labor cost associated with installing a vinyl fence is higher. Wood fencing is also easier to install than vinyl fencing, making it possible to save money by making wood fence installation a DIY project. It’s also possible to DIY install a vinyl fence.

  5. What is the life expectancy of a vinyl fence?

Answer: Vinyl fencing can be expected to last between 10 and 30 years. Vinyl fencing is generally low maintenance, but proper care will ensure it lasts as long as possible. Its long life span and high return on investment make vinyl fencing a popular option for many homeowners.

  6. What type of fence adds to the property value?

Answer: Installing quality fencing, no matter the fence type, will generally add value to your property. In general, fences made of longer-lasting, lower-maintenance, and more attractive materials—like wrought-iron, composite, or vinyl—add more value to a property than fences made of lower-cost or less attractive materials, like chain-link. To ensure your fencing adds as much value to your home as possible, be sure it’s properly permitted, approved by your homeowners association (if you have one), and installed properly.
