Eddie was very professional and friendly. He made sure to update us on all his progress. He gave us his professional advice to help the process be the best outcome possible. The end result was better than we even expected!

  • Berry Painting & Home Improvement
Berry Painting repainted our back deck for us. We know the deck was not in the best condition, but we wanted to “spruce” it up a little to hold it over for the next year or two. Berry painting was recommended to us through Angi’s List, and he returned our call promptly the next morning. Rob was very upfront and honest with us about what we could expect. He made good recommendations for us based off of what we were looking for and offered advice on keeping the deck in better shape. He got the job done quickly, and just in the time frame we were looking for. He also left us an ample amount of paint so that we could coat the deck as needed

Nightmare experience all around. Painter didn't cover windows, then thoroughly scratched 24 panes of 100+ yr old wavy glass removing paint overspray. Windows are totally ruined and will require a costly replacement. He was supposed to reglaze those windows but instead just used caulking and then painted over it and it looks like a 10 yr could have done a better job. Did not adequately scrape or do the prep work required on the wood siding. Painted vertically in the middle of horizontal boards. Left large drips and runs. Skipped areas. Painted over debris. Sloppy painting and left a mess all around the house. The list goes on and on. Company owner refused to come out and look at the issues. Just wanted his money. Said it is "just an old farmhouse." (This "old farmhouse" won a preservation award a few yrs ago....) Never an apology for the damage or inconvenience. We withheld final payment and requested they send a different painter who tried his hardest to make good on the damage done. Finally had to get Sherwin Williams rep to come and tell the company owner that there were definitely areas that still needed addressed. This has gone on for a couple of months. Would never recommend this company

terrible job. initially said the job would take 2 days, robert declared he was done after 3 hours. much of the deck was never coated, there were many drips, stain was slopped on my siding. he began by putting the wrong stain on then couldn't cover it. blames it on stain absorption. of course it doesn't absorb when it isn't applied. will have to have the job redon

  • The ABL Group
I would say that ABL was hands down the best and most responsive contractor we have worked with in our 15 years in the area. We requested a pretty fast turnaround on this work and they not only met our hoped for deadline, they beat it by a day. ABL President Howard Lipsky personally came and quoted the job, taking time to explain each portion of the quote in language a regular person could understand. Then, Howard checked in with his crews (and with us) at the house at least once daily and often a couple times each day. We have been employing a significant number of contractors to do various jobs for us these past few months. All did good work, but only Howard and ABL made us feel like they cared as much as we did about every facet of the project. This was really refreshing. We recommend them without reservation and they would be the first folks we would call if something new came up tomorrow

I have used Robert Berry in the past and was pleased he was available to paint for me again. ( My neighbor was so impressed he hired him last year too). Robert gave me the estimates and came the following 2 weeks- 2 days each week. The painting is excellent. He is courteous and respected my property. I would definitely hire again

Great Very good communication with job supervisor and very good communication with job foreman. Had good updates with the project considering I was not always at the site. To top it off, when job supervisor stopped to check the final result he offered to help us move some very heavy furniture onto property. Without his help we would not have been able to accomplish. Way above the call of duty

  • Signature Building and Remodeling
We had hired Dave Lane before to do some interior repairs on our house and were very happy with him, so when we needed to do some repairs to the house before putting it on the market, we didn't want anyone else. He was very busy with other jobs, but he managed to fit us in. He did all the work after we had moved out and the house was vacant, so we weren't around to witness the work being done, but we knew from the past that we could trust him to do a good job. When we were able to inspect the work afterward, we were not disappointed. Dave takes pride is his work and always does his best. In our experience, he works very quickly and always gets the work done when he says he will, or sooner. Admittedly, he seems to be very busy lately, most likely because people have been happy with his work, so it is harder for him to schedule you in on short notice, but when he does set a date, he has always followed through. He was very responsive and informative. Even with being hundreds of miles away, we always knew what was going on. Anytime we would write him via email, he would respond very quickly and he was usually available by phone. He even sent us pictures of the work as it was in progress and when it was complete because we couldn't be there to see it in person. Our only regret is that we no longer live in the area so we cannot hire him in the future

Find out more about an exterior paint business’s skills

Dig deeper by posing the right questions when you reach out to potential exterior house paint services. A few queries you might want to make include:

  • Which kinds of paint products and paint companies do you plan to use for my project?
  • Which kinds of houses have you painted in the past?
  • How long have you been in business?
  • Do you provide a warranty on the work performed?
  • How much training do your teams receive?
  • What certifications do your employees hold?

Ask for as much data as you can in writing, whether it’s in an email, a printed letter, or a digital quote. Professionals who won’t commit to information in writing may not be the optimal options. Good exterior home painting companies in Erie go above and beyond by communicating clearly with clients, including quotes and contracts.

How much can you save by handling an exterior home painting job yourself?

Should you take on painting your home’s exterior on your own, then you pay for only the supplies and paint. DIY painting, on average, can cost around $1,000. That figure is greater if you need to invest in scaffolding or additional equipment.

It’s a good idea to also consider the time spent painting. Should you miss work to finish the job, you could lose cash, negating the savings. Plus, if you don’t have experience painting, you might not like the end result.

Before you splurge on painting supplies and get to work on the exterior of your house yourself, discuss your project with some experienced exterior house painting services in Erie. Set an appointment for a consultation, and get a written quote for your painting job. You may be delighted by how affordable quality home painting work is.
