"Caboose Crew Construction did an excellent job start to finish on the addition to my house. This included the addition of a laundry room and handicapped accessible bathroom as well the relocation/ enlargement of the kitchen and the creation of breakfast nook area to the existing first floor of my home. Shawn helped me visualize various options to the work and often offered suggestions that surpassed my original expectations. He was a very good manager being able to share his knowledge base so his crew could work in a professional and independent manner in his absence. In addition Shawn was very flexible when I asked for job alterations, additional work projects etc. Overall it was a very positive experience working with Caboose Crew Construction."

"The kitchen was completed gutted and rebuilt within 3 weeks. Matt worked with us on every aspect of the remodel and addressed everything we had on our wish list. On all the projects Matt and his people were here every day until the work was completed to our satisfaction. When they left each day the work site was spotless. We have been happy to recommend MNB Renovations to our friends and family and plan on having Matt back when we are ready for our next project(s)."

The work was done in a clean and timely fashion. His years of experience is apparent from the design work all the way to the completion of our two-story master bedroom/garage addition upper level deck. Including two bathrooms and a kitchen. "Ronda came to us through our general contractor. She assisted us in selecting our cabinets, counter tops, hardware and tile. She met with us multiple times at our house to work through the cabinet design. And we met with her multiple times at her studio and the tile shop to select our counter top and tile. Always ready to help, she is knowledgeable and has innate design ability. More than that, she can explain her design choices, yet is willing to discuss alternatives and work through the design process in a collaborative manner, bringing many ideas to the table – or kitchen, as it were. She listens to her clients and was able to translate our ideas into a comprehensive design. Throughout the process Ronda worked with our contractor and with us to make certain everything came together as planned. While there were a number of minor snafus, she was always there to make certain issues were resolved and to keep the job moving ahead. Cabinets and counter tops are a significant portion of the remolding cost. Cabinet manufactures are not all that interested in dealing directly with the customer. Rather, they work through their distributors. We purchased our cabinets through Ronda who has a strong working relationship with the manufactures she deals with and can easily work out issues. Thank you Ronda for a wonderful new kitchen!"

"Hunt General Contracting installed my attic in a single day, after some of the other contractors I had asked had given me estimates of "1 week" and "we don't work weekends". ONE day, and for a great price as well-- lower than any of the competitors. The workers were all courteous and definitely knew what they were doing. When I asked "could we do this or this" they gave honest and knowledgeable answers. I'd definitely recommend this contractor again.

"We had a shed pad installed for our new shed. Bob really worked to make sure we understood the different types of pads we could get as well as the ground leveling process. He was the only contractor we talked to that put the pad in the ground (excavating some dirt) so that it didn't just sit on top. As an added bonus, he swiped away a patch of really thick ivy that we've been struggling with. When scheduling the pad, he did delay the installation due to weather issues, showing real concern that if we didn't delay at least a day, the installation would be less than the professional level he likes to leave with. I left for the morning to go to work and when I came home, the pad was ready for a shed.
Bob shows a concern for his homeowner's well being in all matters and is very knowledgable. I fully recomend him to anyone seeking a similar install, and will consider Rock-a-fella's when ever I have a gravelly/patio/deck need in the future.

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

While it is possible to build a wooden carport yourself, especially if you are skilled in carpentry, professional construction is recommended. Professionals ensure structural integrity, proper anchoring, correct alignment, and the use of quality materials for a stable and durable result.

Framing most homes takes anywhere between five and eight weeks to complete. You’ll need to account for inclement weather conditions, material shipment times, the number of crew members, and the weight of your materials. If the weather is too hot, wet, or cold for the installation, this process could take closer to eight weeks.

Converting a carport into a garage can vary in difficulty depending on its configuration, the condition of the foundation or slab, and its location relative to the house. The process has a lot in common with a home addition, but you can often skip non-essential finishes like fine flooring, trim work, or even drywall and HVAC. The conversion requires experience with drywall, insulation, and other building materials to ensure it’s done safely and correctly. While it might be possible for a DIYer with the proper tools and skills to do the work, it is a complicated and potentially dangerous job. If you’re new to basic construction, it's best to leave this project to the professionals.

When deciding whether to use nails or screws for framing, the specific needs of the project must be taken into account. Nails have long been the go-to option for framing due to their affordability, ease of installation, and ability to withstand shear forces. They are perfect for structural framing projects where fast assembly is essential. In contrast, screws offer exceptional holding power and are particularly useful in situations requiring increased strength and resistance to pull-out forces. For projects that prioritize accuracy and long-lasting quality, screws may be the preferred option, though nails remain a dependable and efficient choice.

Yes, you can hang picture frames, shelves, and other items on Trusscore panels. For lightweight items (less than 30 pounds), the company recommends using adhesive strips rather than nails or screws. However, you’ll need to secure heavier objects to a stud in the wall. In these situations, Trusscore recommends cutting away the panel material and fastening the object to the stud with metal hardware.
