They did a complete tear off, then replaced the plywood and shingles. The good part is that they had a low price and completed the work very quickly. The bad part was that some of the siding around the dormers was damaged during the tear off and, while some of that was expected, the company did absolutely nothing to address the damage. They did not even offer to do the repair work at additional cost or through a partner. They were simply unresponsive.

We had originally contracted with DAS to replace a portion of a slate roof. They did a good job. We them had them apply new roofing material on three flat roofs. One immediately developed large blisters. We were promised repeatedly that they were looking into it. Then another of the flat roofs developed a leak. They came out to repair it and charged us $800! We hesitated to pay as we were not confident in the repair. Glad we didn’t as we now have a major leak and no response from DAS.

Perfect.....Das roofing did everything they said they would....very quick clean thorough and the price was what they quoted...no surprises..I’m going to have them do my siding next after the great job they did on my roof..thanks guys

The delivery of the material and the installation went very smoothly and was done on the dates promised. The crew was very professional, protected the property, and cleaned up after themselves at the end of the job. Overall I couldn't be more pleased and would certainly recommend D.A.S. to others.

The job was done on time.  All workmanship was excellent.  There are no problem spots (even after the torrential downpour and flooding we experienced last month).  The owner Craig came back a few weeks later to do a quality check as well.  Clean up was good.  All workers were pleasant and professional.  Care was taken around patio equipment and landscaping.  We have recommended DAS to our neighbors as well.  Craig is even coming back to repair a few of the shingles on our gazebo free of charge!  Thank you DAS Crew for a job well done!  Pam+Tom

Craig evaluated my roof and provided a reasonable estimate. He started and completed the project on schedule, closely supervised the project through, and was available to answer any questions. The workmanship is very high quality. His crew is very courteous and hard working. Nothing was damaged and clean up of the work site was immaculate.  I was really dreading this project and Craig made it painless. Cannot say enough good things about this company.

On the day scheduled for my house, there was rain scheduled for late in the day.  Craig scheduled extra workers for the project to ensure that the job was done efficiently, correctly, and before the storm.  For my daughter's house, Craig was extremely helpful in "walking the plans" through the township for the construction of a portico at the entrance of house.  He was diligent and extremely responsive.  I cannot say enough kind things about DAS.

I have an old and fragile slate roof that developed a leak during a big storm at the end of March. . There are not many people around today who really know how to repair this type of roof. Typically, guys climb up and around and often cause more damage than they fix. Craig was one of the few to return my calls and came out quite quickly. He immediately found the source of the leak and repaired it. Then he declined to bill me until the next major storm had shown the repair had worked. No question I'll be using him again for repairs, and when I put out bids for a new roof he will be among my first calls.

We met with Craig Drexler owner of DAS Roofing and Restoration.  He was on time for the appointment and sent an estimate of the work to be done.  This house is a rental property and we live out of state, so we depended on communication with DAS by e-mail and phone as to the progress on the house and calls to our tenant.  We checked the property every few weeks and were pleased. 
DAS mailed us pictures of the metal roof on the house with recommendations for what needed to be repaired.  Repairs were done to the guttering and three roofs were recoated.  Also the soffits on the house had to be replaced in certain areas.  When the work was finished on the soffits,  we were pleased to see that the carpentry was well done and that repair work could not be detected.    As the house is over 100 years old, we decided to re-shingle the turret and replace the decking on a side porch.  Craig Drexler met with us again to discuss the work and give us an estimate.  We were also having the roof on a detached garage re-shingled.  The work on the turret and the garage roof was straight and well done and all debris was cleaned up and removed.  The carpentry on the porch decking again was well done and a sealer was applied to the mahogany wood.  All debris was cleaned up and removed. 
Since the house is considered historical by the Borough, we needed approval of all materials being used.  Craig Drexler went to the
Historical Architectural Review Board meeting to confirm all materials.  We appreciated his time and effort.
We definitely would use DAS Roofing and Restoration again.

I was pleased with all aspects of the work form start to finish. Craig was prompt with getting the initial quote to me. He was very low key (no hard sell). I got multiple quotes and while another quote was slightly lower (though less than $100 difference), I felt more confident that I would be treated better as a customer with DAS. The quote was clear and concise and potential up charges were clearly explained. Work commenced on schedule and was completed without issue. Workers were courteous and cleaned up thoroughly when the job was completed. I should also mention that Craig worked with me on payment terms as I was dealing with an insurance claim. In my job I work routinely with contractors so I have seen both the good and the bad. I would definitely recommend DAS to anyone.

This was the best experience with a service provider we have had in more than 40 years of home ownership..  Craig is a businessman of impeccable integrity.  He trusted us and we trusted him.  His work ethic is impeachable and he takes pride in his company's workmanship.  He evinced interest and concern with the project from the beginning to cleanup. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Our overall experience was an A+. All workers were courteous, professional, knowledgeable and very neat. Everyone
showed enthusiasm for their job and checked in daily to see how else they could assist.  Everyone was flexible, as with most construction projects small changes were made throughout the effort. 

Our other 3 estimates came in at 10-15K more than Craig's. He came highly recommended to us from a very reliable friend in building restoration, who's worked with him many times over the years. So we felt safe in trusting his estimate and the eventual quality of his work. We were not disappointed.
In fact, Craig scheduled what should have been 1 week of work on the day we asked him to, but due to major rain several days in a row, the work could not be completed for over 2 weeks. Craig and his crew were on our house every dry hour in a 2-week period until the work was done, including saturdays and sundays. He even stopped by one rainy day just to drop off materials needed the next day, just in case it stopped raining. The man was dedicated.
Craig knew at the onset that we could not pay his upfront percentage because the roofing would be paid by the seller of the house we were buying. He gracefully accepted this, and said that he would not cash our check after settlement until the job was done and we were satsified.
The only caveat with Craig is, because he's out on jobs by 5AM and hits the sack early, he only replies to emails once per day, usually around 3AM, so don't expect long emails or conversations. He's a man of few words, but he's excellent, reliable and well worth every penny we paid him and his crew.

Craig reqponded quickly with a site visit to measure our roof and he provided a written quotation within 48 hours. We choose DAS for our roof replacement and solar tube installation over 4 other quotes. His quotation was straight-forward, easy to understand and aside from the potential need to replace some of the plywood on the roof if found to be damaged (his charge was among the most reasonable), he engendered confidence with his quiet and respectful manner. The actual installation (18 squares) was handled by a crew of 4-5 men who started promptly and completed the job in one day (roof and solar tube). We could not be more pleased with his service.
