"I had two jobs with Pineda Tree last week. Edwin is very responsive, accommodating, and surprisingly punctual. When he says 10 am, he is there 10 am sharp. The crew is extensive and runs like a well-oiled machine. Tree service is not cheap, and I had 7 other companies provide the estimate - Pineda is definitely competitive. And while one usually would expect lesser quality for a lower price I was pleasantly surprised to be completely satisfied with the job itself and how clean they left the area when they were done."

Customers say: Quality work

"Hiring tree trimmers is difficult because, although for most having them come out to estimate the cost solo is beneficial, I prefer to be there. Sadly, I couldn't be. In the end the job was done very well, however there were still some tree sections I wanted back a bit further. This is no fault of Creative Design. I just think next time I will be on hand to describe the job fully. In the end, Tremaine was friendly, communicative, clean and well priced. I've already passed along his card to my neighbor who is looking for some tree work. I would hired him again should the need arise."

Small jobs welcome

"Everything went extremely well with the project. Initial contact was very prompt, and communication was excellent. I had a tree which was dropping limbs frequently and needed to be removed. I had concerns of damage to property by the tree, so Reverie worked the job into schedule sooner than expected. The Blue Crew led by Tom did a great job. They arrived promptly at the scheduled time, and Tom was very pleasant and professional. The crew did a great job, and completed the job in a timely manner. They were respectful of the property, and cleaned up very well. Thanks Reverie for a great experience!"

Small jobs welcome

"Our split rail fence was damaged in a storm and A Touch of Nature did a great job with the repair. Justin gave us many options that were very cost effective. We were so impressed that we also hired them to clear out some scrub growth and small trees in the back of our property. The job they did exceeded our expectations and we will be hiring them for more projects...hopefully soon! 100% recommend A Touch of Nature."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

While it’s best to have access to large, healthy, strong trees in a safe position, treehouse living is still possible without them. Contractors can fit tree posts to build the structure onto or use posts as additional support alongside the trees themselves. If you’re in doubt about the suitability of the trees on your land, consult with a local treehouse builder before you start the project.

Trees that flower in the spring—like dogwood, cherry, magnolia, and pear—should not be pruned during the winter. These spring-flowering plants grow buds on old growth, so you’ll actually remove what would’ve been gorgeous flowering foliage. Instead, wait to prune until right after they bloom, when the flowers fade.

Generally, you’ll want to prune back the trunk by 1 to 2 feet each year to promote bushy growth. Doing so concentrates vegetative buds closer to the bottom of the tree, where you can easily harvest fruit. For side shoots that are a year old, leave at least six leaves.

Never remove more than 30% of a tree’s foliage during pruning—even if your tree is really overgrown. Removing this much foliage at a time could kill your tree.

Maple trees start the growing season by developing small groups of red flowers where the tree's fruit, the samaras, will appear in the coming weeks. Later in spring, the samaras, which many call whirlybirds or similar names, develop into single-winged seed carriers that spin when falling or drifting in the wind.

No, you should never top maple trees. Topping injures the tree and leads to the rapid growth of a weak canopy, which can be hazardous to rooftops and utility lines. Removing the crown can also leave the interior bark vulnerable to sun damage, leading to insects and disease. A topped tree can also reduce property value and permanently damage the appearance of a tree.
