"It went very well. The tree was an 100 year old oak that was at least 90 to 100 feet tall. I had met with at least 4 different tree companies before making a decision. The price was the best along with the skill and professionalism of the workers. The crane operator and bucket truck worker were very skilled. They had to contend with electrical wires on two sides and tight quarters being close to the house. Stump removal and clean up was great. Their trucks and equipment are kept in very good condition and was their own. I would highly recommend this company."

"I had a huge amount of leaves on a 3/4 acre property in Phoenixville. Grassroots was very prompt in calling me after my enquiry. He called Saturday, I asked for service Friday and the job was done when I got home Tuesday. Two truckloads plus grass mowed. And he gave me a senior discount. I love grass roots, and they will be getting any future business from me. As a single woman, it's not easy to keep up with my leaves as well as the leaves from my neighbor's trees that blow into my yard. Thank you so very much. Eventually, I will ask to have my other black walnut tree taken out. I must have 30 trees on the property."

"Joe DiJosia and his crew did a great job! Joe kept us informed as to the timing of the project, and communicated with us frequently as the work was being done. The work site was neat at the end of each day. The project was completed within the expected timeframe, and new porch, sidewalk, back patio, and landscaping look beautiful! We are very happy with the results."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Some trees will bounce back just fine, and others will struggle and possibly die. Evergreens, for instance, have a very difficult time recovering after droughts and usually die after periods of extreme dryness. Usually, you’ll have to just wait and see—if the drought occurs in wintertime, it’s possible that your tree will recover during the gentler springtime.

Trees don’t usually grow back after being cut down. Some particularly robust tree species may start sending up new stems from a stump to recover, but those stems won’t become a “tree” like before. Generally, trees don’t recover from being entirely cut down, which is why it’s important to be careful when making a decision. When you cut down a tree, it’s a good idea to make plans to remove the stump, even if it’s unlikely to grow back.

Bradford pear trees bloom in early spring with small white flowers. They typically flower for at least two weeks. In bloom, these trees often emit a foul-smelling odor that’s often compared to rotting fish. Bradford pear trees will sometimes bloom in the fall due to drought or other stress-inducing conditions.

On grafted trees, tree suckers will grow from the root stock, not the branches grafted onto it. Therefore, the leaves and characteristics of the suckers aren’t the same as the tree because they are different varieties. Root stock has more hardiness, strength, or drought tolerance than its grafted limbs, so if the suckers are from fruit or flowers, it might be different than the main part of your tree.

It could be anywhere from weeks to years for a dead tree to fall. A dead tree falls based on its weight, how it leans, the state of its roots, the state of decay, and what local windstorms are like, among other factors. Since it’s hard to predict the fall’s timing, it’s important to cut down a dead tree quickly and avoid any unpleasant surprises.
