"Services performed 06/13/2020. Early on a Saturday there was no heat in master bath sink hot water and we assumed it was the water heater. Bucci & son (the son & his helper to be exact) had been out to clean our drains two days earlier on 06/11/2020 (see my separate review for that) and we were so pleased I called them again thinking the thermostat on the water heater was bad because it was a relatively new water heater. It was a Saturday but Bob again sent his son that afternoon. It turns out he traced it to a minor problem at the sink and refused to charge me or take payment of any type. It has been a long time since I have experienced this type of quality customer service that used to be standard business practice and wanted to Bob, his Son & their Helper know how appreciated it is. I will refer them whenever possible and will request their services in the future when needed.show more

"First: I want to be fair. Mr Pawlak was responsive to phone calls, showed up on time, and was neat and tidy in both appearance and in his work. My dissatisfaction lies in value for money, and in the lack of durability of the repair part installed. This is a follow up review to my first review last year. Barely a year after service by Pawlak's, the capacitor that Mr. Pawlak installed blew. This time I was smarter, I ordered a quality replacement part: Amrad 45/7.5 capacitor (as spec'd by manufacturer), and went with an American made part guaranteed for 5 years. The American made, guaranteed, quality part was $30, and it took 15 minutes to replace (most of that removing/replacing the access panels). The picture below shows the part installed by Mr Pawlak. It might be difficult to see, but the capacitor is bulging at the bottom and does not sit flat on the desk. This is a classic sign of a blown capacitor. This makes me think back to the "maintenance club" offer, and makes me a little angrier. I don't mind paying for service. $350 to replace a sub $10 part with 15 minutes of work "while you're on the way to another job" is not fair value for work done. $150 or $200 would have been fair, $350 for a terrible quality part was gouging. On top of that, when I read some of the reviews here, others had similar work done and paid far less. Avoid.show more

"I got halfway through a job installing my own Google Nest Thermostat when I hit a snag with it not getting power. I checked every option the internet could tell me and luckily I was able to find Jack and Phillips Heating & Air Conditioning. Jack swung by and helped me troubleshoot the issue, noting things to remember (for me a first time homeowner) and things that may not have been done "normally" like wire colors and where they go to. Overall it took us about an hour of working through the issue, but we found that I... genius that I am... didn't shut off the HVAC directly so I blew a fuse while installing the unit. One quick fuse exchange later, I am up and running and will be bragging to my loved ones how I (me myself, with no help of anyone else) installed the Nest unit all on my own. Knowing fully well I couldn't have done it without them. Thank you Jack, and you bet I'll be seeing you soon to go over some of the other items I should be maintaining as a new homeowner!show more
