However, some range hoods also have a second damper, which is located close to the roof or exterior wall where the ductwork ends. If you don’t see a damper in either of these places, you might not have one.

You’ll pay more for projects like these if you don’t have existing infrastructure, or if you’re installing more than one vent. Adding ductwork can increase your final bill by anywhere from $250 to $950.
