We were extremely pleased with the outstanding service and attention to our requests from Ben Fischer and the gang at Slagle Roofing. Since this is not our primary residence we had to find a competent roofing company that would communicate with us long distance and be able to schedule the construction while we were visiting for a week in July.
Ben made good on his promise, and the roofing crew showed up Monday at 7am and worked till 8pm. Jorge, Luis, Sean , etc.worked diligently during 90 degree heat and wasps. The sight was kept clean and we were always kept aware of any problems like boards that needed replaced. Since my husband is a contractor in Florida he monitored their work and felt comfortable in discussing any areas that needed additional attention. Ben kept in contact with us throughout the day and came out at the end of each day to make sure we were happy with the work and was great!
They also used the plans we drafted to create a roof gable even though they are not carpenters they did a great job. The crew was very easy to deal with. The roof took two days to replace.
A different crew( Dave, Eddie, and Nate) came in to replace the fascia and install gutters and downspouts. Another great crew that were attentive to what we wanted. We asked that a gutter was redirected to pour into a rain barrel and they were gracious in accommodating us. Each day both crews continually asked if we were pleased with the work. They seemed to understand that the customer's satisfaction is what really matters, in the end.
When it was all done our 60 year old house looked amazing and my father, who still lives there and did not want to see the roof changed, was very pleased with the results and thanked us .
"It was a great pleasure working with you and your husband. It was awesome to hear that your dad really liked it. Thanks again for the business."
"I'm sorry to hear you are unsatisifed. When you signed the contract last year towards the end of the year your husband told me you weren't in a hurry to get your roof done and told him we were very busy and more then likely would not get to it until spring. I also tried to refer to you a Mason to rebuild your chimney which had nothing to do with us and not part of our roofing contract. I regret referring you another company because there really is no benefit to us as you can see in this case. When spring came I reached out to your husband and wanted to get an update on the chimney replacement and he said he was still working on getting it done and the contractor he had hired had not completed the job. He gave me the impression he still wasn't in a hurry for us to come over and start the roof and I told him we were plenty busy and I could squeeze him in when he was ready. This is the first I heard that you were unhappy. A simple phone call to discuss helping you get your chimney replaced would have given me a chance to try and find someone else for you. I did call the customer right away this evening to get some clarifications and they even had the roof done by someone else which surprised me since we had a contract to do it. I understand you were frustrated but with some communication I strongly believe we could have solved your problems."
They worked every day until the project was complete. They were very friendly and professional. They cleaned up after themselves. The gutters and soffit and fascia look great. I would definitely use them again.
"Thanks again for the business and I appreciate the kind review."
"We are really sorry to hear that [member name removed]. There must have been a miscommunication somewhere in my office. I know it can be frustrating to have a leaky roof in the winter time and even more frustrating when you can't find anyone to fix it. We pride ourselves on providing great customer service and if you would like you can email me at [email protected] with your info and details and we can get a serviceman to your home this upcoming week. The weather finally looks like it's taking a turn for the better. I looks forward to hearing from you."
"Thanks for your recommendation [member name removed]. It really is hard to get every nail but the ones in the driveway there is no excuse for that. We have a magnet that we use in addition to a broom but I guess we didn't get them all and I apologize. I am glad you didn't get a flat tire. I have had to buy a few tires over the years but we have gotten a lot better over the years. There were around 13,000 nails used on your roof so you were right about the quantity being a lot. Thanks again for the positive review and look forward to doing some more houses in the neighborhood."
