"On Tuesday 09-29-2020, Joseph came to my home to clean and inspect my fireplace and chimney. The first thing I would like to comment on beyond his obvious knowledge and skill with fireplace tech is that he's also a wonderful and caring person. I could tell that he genuinely cared about me as well as the task at hand. I have two canes that I need to move about. He could tell that I have cretin issues with some day to day things. He helped me with a couple of items that were not even related to the chimney job. He didn't have to do that. Joseph is an amazing person. We had a wonderful chat too. It felt like I was visiting an old and trusted friend. He performed a detailed inspection of my fireplace system, cleaned everything well, pointed out a few minor issues, and then made a few repairs. When done, he cleaned up his workspace and collected his tools and ladder. As you might imagine, cleaning fireplaces and chimneys can be very dirty work but he is very skilled and he was super careful. I had nothing to do after he had packed up his gear and left. He then told me that the fee was just as quoted on the phone when I made the appointment. NICE! We ended the visit with a pleasant chat in the driveway as he packed his truck and then he was off to his next job. I absolutely and highly recommend Joseph and 'Lucky Chimney & Dryer Vent Services'. If I could give more than 5 Stars, I would. Thanks Joe! Your awesome... :)"

Our business has been passed down from generations and will be passed down to the new generation. This is what we do in the winter months and in the Spring/Summer we do Custom Painting so we keep ourselves busy most of the year. I am glad that I have been able to provide my services here in Southern Oregon since 1989. The rest of my experience was done in California. Additional DBA - Busy Bee Custom Painting. Cost is determined by the job.

"In and out in about ten minutes; invoice listed items done/checked that weren't; first fire after their service, I had a slight flue fire from creosote remnants left on top of secondary burn tubes."

Chimney Repair questions, answered by experts

When properly installed and maintained, a metal roof can last 50 to 80 years. However, the fasteners used to attach the roof may have a shorter lifespan than the roof panels, so it’s a good idea to inspect your roof every few years to check for wear and replace any damaged components. Metal roofs installed over shingles don’t last as long as tear-offs since the underlying roofing components can deteriorate over time, and the added weight can stress roof supports.

To maintain metal roof health, schedule regular inspections, clear debris from gutters, and check for signs of corrosion.

In many areas, chimney repair companies need to be licensed, but it depends on your state and local municipality. You can check with your local building department to see if companies need licenses, and then you can use Angi’s license lookup tool to confirm that the company you’re considering holds the proper license. It’s a good idea to confirm that the professional is fully insured, and you can ask about certification from organizations like the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA). These certifications aren’t mandatory, but they help ensure a professional repair.

Yes, you can walk on a standing seam roof, but you should avoid stepping on the seams and instead walk on the flat portions. The seams are thin and provide less traction, and they don’t get direct support from the roof decking underneath, so they’re more likely to dent from added weight.

Metal roofs can rust, but steel is a material that holds up well to environmental factors, especially if it’s painted or galvanized. One of the main determining factors regarding rust is the environment the roof is in. Harsher environments with a lot of salt in the air will rust much more quickly than a steel or metal roof in a dry climate. Zinc-coated steel, called galvanized steel, is excellent at preventing rust from forming.
