Overall, very well. My brother is a general contractor and he had a friend of his look over the bids. Apex's bid was almost spot-on for what he would have charged. Also important to me was availability. We are doing some other work around the house and Jeff scheduled us around that. His crew was courteous and professional and they cleaned up everything before the left. I only gave a B grade on price because there was another bid that was significantly lower... I have no way of knowing how that would have played out had I chose that contractor.

They were great. They were professional. They did a good job. We could rely on them. They cleaned up after they were done. Their price is probably a C compared to other ones we checked with. The product was a little bit different. He was willing to come out and do some other stuff for us. He was very responsive.

Came over on time.  Went through the entire roofing process and offered various options.  Even provided photographs for insurance claim purposes.  Performed the work in a timely fashion.  Roof looks terrific.

Very well. Steve was very clear in his initial explanation of the job, very punctual to meetings, very attentive to the workmanship and scheduling. We are very pleased and will recommend Apex to our friends when needed.

I met with Jeff, the owner of it, and he sat down and talked all about it before he even started. He came out like everybody else that I had come out, gave me a bid, and walked right through it. He did not ask for any money out front like some of the other companies did. He was willing to meet me on my time whenever it was possible. I had to make appointments with the other guy and a couple of them I had to call a couple of times to find out when they were coming. I just like his personality. Me and wife both like him so we went with him. I had something that they should have caught. They came out, looked at it, and said that they did not know why they did not catch it, but they fixed it within two days. For somebody doing the same thing, most of them with their bids came to $2,000 to $5,000 more. Then, he run into problems and told us what it was going to cost while the other guys were already hiring and that was not putting in it any of the materials. He did it on.

The gentleman arrived to evaluate the job and submit the cost of repair on the date we requested and at the time we scheduled. We were given options on ventilation, and newer fans. Explaining the difference in costs for each item. Varieties of different shingles and colors to choose from were shown to us. Professional, friendly, accommodative to our pets. At the end of each day they were very through in cleaning all debris from days work. No evidence anyone had been around our property. Our gracious neighbor allowed the usage of her driveway, and the crew were very thoughtful in making sure her property was cleaned each day. Choosing this company was based upon their integrity, honesty, with no hidden fees. Continuous effective communication between the staff and all involved with the roofing process, creating a smooth transitions when something unexpected came up. Last day a complete final inspection allowed, both contractors and resident to ensure the work was completed to everyones' expectation, before payment was given. Their service in the future would be used again for our needs. Details of the process of reroofing were explained each day, so that we were aware of what was being done, as this was our first experience with a roofing company and we are very impressed.

Although we decided to wait one more year before we replace our roof, I need you to know Jeff is one of the nicest, most professional, and sincere businessman you will meet. He was very prompt and called me on several occasions to know he was working on the proposal and wanted me to be "in the loop". Please make sure that you include him when you are starting your bid process. A pleasure to deal with!

Everything went as explained to us. We ran into an issue with some wood replacement though. But the team replaced it very quickly. It was obvious they have done this many times before. I looked at the wood that was taken off and couldn't believe that that part of the roof didn't fall in . They worked hard and got the job done. The team was also understanding of the four children we have and made extra sure of the safety for them below. Thank you Team Apex Roofing!

I was very happy with the whole experience! Jeff and Steve were great to work with. I wanted to save some money so I did the tear off my self, Steve came to our  house with a trailer and tools and instructed us on how to do the tear off. They were quick and cleaned up when the job was finished. I would recomend Apex roofing to anybody!

GREAT - By the time I got home from work around 3:30, you would never know a roof was being put on.  The work area was spotless.

All contact with Jeff Thayer (the owner) and his entire crew has been very positive.  I would do business with Jeff on a handshake.  When he and his crew replaced the roofing, they went above and beyond what would normally be required.  For example, they used a woven waterproof fabric in lieu of normal felt paper for the underlayment and re-nailed the sheathing without being asked since the original builder did not do a good job of it.  They showed up on time every morning, were friendly and courteous and cleaned up the job site each evening.  In addition, hey painted all the vents and pipes to match the new roofing without being asked and at no extra charge.  After the job was complete, they retrieved every nail and staple that had fallen to the ground with magnets.  Even though it had been 4 years since the roofing job, Jeff responded within 24 hours to my request for help in blowing out the gutters this Fall, as our regular gutter blower had had his hip replaced.

Apex Roofing came out & accurately estimated the likely tasks needed to be done, the amount of time required, the likely scheduling and the costs.  Because our roof is relatively simple (only 2 planes) and small (2,000 sq ft), they thought they could probably squeeze it in between other jobs, in spite of this being their busiest season.  They were polite & professional, and cleaned up extremely well after each day's work.  After the bulk of the work was done, Steve came out to finish a couple tasks that had not quite been completed (picking up the rest of the nails & clearing the vents under the eaves).
I only wish that SOME roofers would start providing their employees with health insurance, pension plans, paid vacations and sick leave.  I like to vote with my dollar, and would've preferred to go with a vendor that treated his employees like the hard workers they appear to be.  But alas, apparently no local roofing company does this.  None from which I got estimates did.  Any company that does so will certainly have a higher overhead, but can probably expect less turnover and more patronage from customers like me.  And ultimately should feel better about how he's treating his people.
Response from Apex Roofing
"In response to health care/ pension plans/sic days: I feel the same. Everybody that works should have these benefits. We will be looking into these benefits in the near future. We have however been taking steps to keep overhead down. You wont see us driving a 50,000 dollar new truck, or buying commercial real estate to store our equipment. My refusal to do so stems back to my big picture "more profit more benefits" On the flip side, the roofing industry is very, very competitive in a numerical sense. Estimate are often low compared to other trades, yet we roofers pay the highest insurance premiums on the market. Just one of the many reason's that keep our numbers/ benefits down. Please know that, Apex employee benefit package's are something we are striving for. Thank you again for the work. Jeff Thayer"

Job Site was at Fort Klamath on the shores of Agency Lake where you can have high winds and foul weather any time of the year including summer.   House was under renovations which included new exterior siding on third floor Master Bedroom and installation of Chimney Pipe Box over 6 / 12 Open Beam Ceiling, and repair of Oiled Wood Eves and Barge Rafters.
Apex worked very well with the carpenters by returning several times to do roof work as the carpenters finished each portion of their job. When rain / high winds threatened, Apex made special trip to Fort Klamath and installed the metal roofing on entire roof, then returned after the rain and removed portions of the roof so the Carpenters could finish their job.
Apex designed Metal Roofing Wrap to go around the massive Barge Rafters that is exposed to the wind and weather coming off of the Lake to protect the wood from damage.
Last month when a leak developed in the sky light over the dining area, Apex returned and checked the sky light. After determining it was not the roof leaking, but the sky light, Apex made a temporary repair to stop the leak until a Glazer can repair the sky light. Apex did not charge for the repair.
I give these guys all A's on the way they worked with the other contractors and for doing a superb job.

Good job-this is an old place so they did a tear off of the old roof and installed new plywood sheeting on the roof before installing the new roof.  Overall good job and I am happy with the work product.

I made an appointment for them to come out a week ahead of time. The guy called a half an hour before and wanted to change it to another day. Well he agreed to come later in the day, and he was still 20 minutes late. He didn't really answer our questions fully and seemed to be in a hurry to leave. I asked about the estimate and he said that it would be ready Friday or Monday. I asked if we could get it Friday and he agreed we would get it. He not only didn't contact us Friday, but didn't call us Monday either. So I finally called Monday afternoon, and told him that we wouldn't be going with him because we weren't going to be using a unresponsive provider. He got a bit upset and tried to say he didn't tell me we would have it Friday. Well he called back later and got our answering machine--he said he was sorry and that he did remember now telling us that he would get the quote to us Friday before the holiday. Needless to say, we still won't be using Apex.
Response from Apex Roofing
"On July 3rd, we were unusually busy with people who wanted to get estimates done and projects scheduled before the left for the 4th of July holiday. On days like this we sometimes call ahead to see if we can adjust schedules to accommodate everyone. I called the client before this appointment to ask if we could move it to a later the same day or to a different day. just prior to our meeting time however, my GPS had lost connection in the rural are in route to the client's home. I took a wrong turn and had to stop for direction. i called the client, explained what had happened with the GPS and that I would be late. When I arrived on this extremely hot Wednesday, we discussed the project and I answered every question the clients asked. While they went off to attend to their property, I measured and inspected the roof. Before leaving, I said I would be getting back to them on Monday or Tuesday. They asked if I could do it Friday and I agreed. I made a note of it as I got in the truck, but the note was attached to another estimate (which I completed and presented on Friday). On the following Monday, when this client called my cell phone, her name came up on my screen and I happily said her name as I answered the call. I was stunned when she said I had missed the appointment. I said, "That's terrible! (I was thinking, Oh no! How could this have happened?) Are you sure we said, Friday?" She reminded me and I apologized for the mistake. She told me she would be going with another roofing company. I told her I respected her decision. When I returned to the office I reviewed my notes and realized how the mistake had happened. The extreme heat, the GPS problem, the busy schedule, were all just circumstances. The misplaced note was my mistake. The mistake and responsibility was mine as the estimator. So, though I knew she had gone with another roofing company, I still called the client back to explain the mistake and extend my sincere apologies again for the inconvenience of the missed appointment. We strive for great communication and customer satisfaction. If a mistake happens we take responsibility for it and we correct it. I have since changed the way I note follow up appointments so this won't happen again. Steve"

Very professional and punctual.  Thorough explanation of my options, also did a great job at explaining the importance of proper ventilation.  Saved me enough money to install solar tubes, a great addition to any home, an overall great experience!!!!!!!!!!!!

I called APEX ROOFING to get a price on reroofing our house. Jeff came out walked the roof, and made a couple of suggestions. He had a price and schedule that I could live with. The roof and gutters look GREAT.... We have a couple of rentals and have had APEX ROOFING come out and put a new roof and gutter on one and new roof on the other.I would use APEX ROOFING again, and recommend them highly.
