Customers say: True professional

"I highly recommend GI Landscape. The owner, Israel is fantastic to work with and his crew are efficient and do excellent work. We have used this company to build a paver patio, fire pit with pavers, fencing and to plant a row of trees and numerous landscape plants. They provided excellent landscape ideas, offered fair pricing, arrived on time and left the area clean. We are so pleased with the results and have no hesitation in recommending this company."

"Called for a bid on Saturday afternoon, and within one hour, Jim came to do the bid. The bid was competitive. Monday was selected for the job. The fencing with two gates was completed that day. I got home from work, and greeted the two workers. Alex finished the job by inviting me to tour the fenced area, asking any questions I might have"

"His bid was lower than  other bids (though later, he said that perhaps he should have bid higher, but he stuck with his original bid) He was the best of the bidders in describing what and how he would do the job. The others just came in and looked at it and then later sent us a bid, Matthew spent quite a bit of time describing the project which was very helpful. His web site is great, excellent pictures of the work he has done in the past.
He removed and disposed of the old deck. He built the deck using Azek decking materials. He dealt with a couple of unexpected issues easily. He works alone. The quality of the work is excellent and he is  pleasant.  He finished the job in 5 days which was what he had estimated.
Overall, we are very pleased and would have him do work for us again.

"We contacted Dennis King the end of June for an estimate to replace our old roof. Dennis is very personable, and forthright. The estimate was very clearly understood and detailed. We arranged to have the job done the last part of August. Meanwhile, he sent us a list of homes they had roofed so we could see color choices. The week of August 21st they re-roofed our house. The crew removed our old roofing, replaced a plywood area that had rotted. The crew was very through in checking the plywood, testing it to be sure it was stable and ready to be re-roofed. We especially liked how well the workers communicated and let us know exactly what they were doing and anything we should know. Dennis is very organized as is his workers and always clean up at the end of the day which makes it easy to drive into the garage."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

The lifespan of a fence can range from 5 to 50 years, depending heavily on the material, local climate, and how well it is maintained. For example, a wooden fence might last 7 to 15 years, while a vinyl fence typically lasts 20 to 30 years. Metal, composite, and glass fences have some of the longest lifespans. Proper maintenance, such as regular cleaning, inspections, and staining or sealing for wood, is key to extending the life of any fence material. Vinyl and composite are durable options that don't require sealing.

There are several privacy fence ideas, including DIY temporary fence ideas. You can try using pallets, which is a great way to add privacy and recycle materials. You can use a traditional square or lattice trellis as a temporary privacy fence, which provides seclusion and allows you to add flowers and climbing vines for a living design element.

Yes, fence posts should be set in concrete to provide the proper support for the fence. If you notice your fence posts leaning, you’ll need to learn how to brace a fence post to fix the problem and prevent further damage from occurring. By bracing a fence post properly, you’ll provide stability and sturdiness to your fence for years to come.

Yes, you can use a floor jack to remove fence posts. Attach a stem to the base of the fence post so you can position the floor jack underneath. The stem can be a scrap piece of wood attached with nails or a sturdy nail itself. Put the jack beneath the stem and push the lever to lift up on the fence post and remove it from the ground.

Ideally, your concrete should set slightly above ground at an angle sloping away from the fence post. This will add extra support and allow water to run away from the wood fence post. Keeping water out will help prevent wood rot. Additionally, you can add soil on top of the concrete for a seamless finish.
