Happy to report that he stated when he didn't know the answer in depth, but suggested what may be the source of effects. The job was done quickly, professionally and cleanly. Quoted a list of optional improvements (chimney cap, brick cleaning/seal) and repairs (cement flue cap replacement) that should be considered, but that they not a limitation to safe usage of the fireplace. I would hire again."

Charged over $300 for an hour's looking around (no actual service) and drive time. So, I feel pretty seriously misled, and I still have to find someone to service the boiler. They continue to be unwilling to split the bill."

"Albany Stove removed an old, nonfunctional wood stove from my house. I had asked them to sweep the vent to the roof first so minimal products of combustion would be left. They did everything needed promptly and well. The crew was very respectful of the house and used many large drop cloths and a shop vac to keep as much dust as possible out of the house as they removed the venting to the ceiling, then capped off the roof vent at top and bottom. I felt their price was also reasonable."
