It was smooth as glass. They arrived on time, 2 guys, one went under our house very low crawl space that in itself was worth $200. The other stayed outside and explained what was happening and also assisted the one under the house. They replaced both faucets and repaired the pin hole in less then an hour.
I was pleased with their work and will use them again if necessary.Once I got moved in and had a washer/dryer installed - I realized that I had no cold water running to the laundry room. Because of budget limitations to do any more non-critical/necessary plumbing (plumbers are expensive), and I figured I could 'live' with only hot water to my washing machine - I did not persue fixing it correctly. I have spent the past year with no cold water in my washing machine. I'm now in a better situation and would like it corrected, but I'm not sure that I would go with them again - only because it's been a long time, and seemed 'wrong' that they wouldn't figure out how to rectify the situation at the time and follow up on it considering there WAS running water in the pipe. (it had to be going to somewhere in theory... right?)
So that was the last we spoke - everything else in the house is working fine - just not the cold water in the laundry room. Again, I accept responsibility for not following up one way or another, but I just didn't have the capacity to make a priority of it at the time, however - I am not entirely sure I would go with them again... I will be getting estimates again sometime in the not-too-distant future, I will call them to get an estimate and discuss the problem... but I'm not sure I will go with them, even though they were reasonable, if not good in prior encounters.
"Beaver Plumbing has two invoices from the Member at this address. The first call was on 10/14/2011 for no water at outside hose bibbs. After assessing her issue we discovered the house is built on a slab with steel pipes buried in the concret. The house had been partly repiped through the attic. Whomever did the re-pipe neglected to reconnect the outside hose bibbs. The Member had us run new water lines and install two new outside hose faucets. It is possible that the cold water feed to her washer was never re-piped. We have no record of any issues in the laundry room. The second invoice was on 11/16/2011 and the Member wanted to rearrange fixtures in one of her bathrooms. We came in to move drains for a bathtub and toilet where she had a contractor break up the floor. Unfortunately one of the old galvanized water lines was in the way. Assuming all these lines were dead because of the repipe we cut it out of our way. Well like the Member said the water line was still live. After capping the line we tested fixtures including her kitchen which is between the bathroom and laundry room. Either way it would have had to been removed in order to place the toilet where she wanted. As for our pricing we are a flat rate shop. The Member was given the price of the job before work began and she agreed to it."
We called other plumbing companies but they couldn't fit us in today. So we checked Angie's List and found Beaver Plumbing and Heating Inc had recent "A" ratings for the kind of work we needed today.
We called the Beaver Plumbing office and received a helpful and caring resource person at the other end of the phone. She let us know that the plumbers were in the field working, but that she would give them a call to see if they could help us today. Within a few minutes we received a call back to let us know that the crew would be able to help us in an hour. An hour later two professional employees pulled up in their truck. They introduced themselves, assessed the problem, quoted us a price and showed us where the water shut off was in the house! Then they set to work and had the project completed professionally and quickly.
The outside faucet works better than it ever has.
