"I highly recommend this company. I've dealt with a lot of plumbing issues in the past and had significant issues with most of them. Even before the appt Travis put my mind at ease by patiently answering all my questions. He and his dad were not only on time but early which i appreciated. They got right to work and were happy to explain what they were doing. They were efficient, professional and clearly knew their craft. When they were finished, they left the work area spotless. Travis even went the extra mile and brought my garbage cans in from the street which was a thoughtful touch. I would absolutely hire this company again."

At Midtown Plumbing, we believe plumbing service should be straightforward, honest, and done right the first time.\n\nWe're a locally owned company, not backed by private equity, not driven by sales quotas, and not here to upsell you on things you don't need. Our focus is simple: deliver high-quality work, communicate clearly, and take care of every home as if it were our own.\n\nIn an industry where many companies have become corporate and transactional, we've built Midtown Plumbing around accountability, craftsmanship, and long-term relationships. When you work with Midtown, you're not just another job, you're a customer we intend to take care of for the long run.\n\nWe show up prepared, do clean and professional work, and stand behind everything we install or repair. Our goal isn't just to fix the issue, it's to earn your trust every time we're in your home.\nMidtown Plumbing: Built on quality, not volume.

"These guys are great. They stayed in touch, were on time, made minimal cuts in the drywall (made sure they were behind the microwave hood area and range. They stayed in touch with city inspectors and coordinated visits. In fact, the inspector signed off on the permit after installation without requiring a second inspection with the appliance hooked up and running, because, he said, I've seen these guys' work before and they are top notch. Everything was smooth and easy. And the bid was the bill. No surprises and that is a blessing in any remodeling project. Highly recommend."

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, it’s possible to install a sewage ejector pump outside rather than in a basement. However, there may be some extra steps involved, including running pipes from the inside to the outside of your home and digging (and re-filling) a hole for the basin. If you aren’t comfortable with this type of work, contact a plumbing pro to handle it for you.

Grinder pumps alone cost $300 on average. The average cost to install a new grinder pump is between $2,000 and $4,000, including the pump and labor. This price can also change based on the exact type of grinder pump you choose, labor costs in your area, and the power system your home currently has.

To maintain your sump pump, start by checking it every three to four months to ensure it’s in working order. Clear any debris from the pit because blockages can prevent the pump from operating efficiently. You should also test the pump by pouring a bucket of water into the pit. If it turns on automatically and drains the water, it’s functioning correctly. Inspect the discharge line for clogs, and ensure it directs water away from your home. Once a year, clean the pump itself, and consider having it professionally serviced for optimal performance.

First, you can try unplugging the two sump pump cords, one for the motor and one for the float switch, then plugging them back in to reset the sump pump. You can also reset the sump pump by turning it off and back on at the breaker. Many sump pumps have a reset button, which you can press and hold for a few seconds to reset the device.

DIY is possible for simple repairs. Professional services ensure proper diagnostics and long-term reliability.
